There are only five individuals to identify in this case, which is a small mercy.

  • Two of these should be familiar from the previous case.
  • The speaker at the podium doesn't have identifying documents, but it's quite simple to find out his first name and his job title from dialogue. His surname is easily figured out once you know his job.
  • The woman is stated to be the daughter of a scientist. You already know of a scientist.
  • Dialogue and certain files can help you figure out the rest.

All Conference Solutions

The Conference panel is very helpful in that it leads you to make some important conclusions about the background to this case.

  • The colours of the blank spaces narrows down the clues very helpfully.
  • The wording also helps you - only certain types of words can follow phrase like 'was a' and 'has a strong'.
  • The identity of the speaker is already known to you, granted you figured out the name panel first.
  • Read the statements accessible via the camera carefully.
  • A note in the speaker's pocket will help you deduce the topics of the conference.
  • There are three files in the commissioner's office. One deals with a famous person, and two do not. Examine them closely.
    • Where else can you find three cases bundled together? This could help you identify the redacted case file.

Solution

During the conference, Sebastian Walsh claimed:

1. The case Beetle 4 was a tragic accident.

2. The case Possum 13 has a strong drug connection.

All Victim Solutions

This panel deals with the man whose picture can be found in the commissioner's wastepaper basket.

  • There are four bodies on the tables in the lower window screen. There are also four 'causes of death' listed on the paper at the back.
  • Many of these causes of death make themselves obvious visually.
  • Identifying which body belongs to the man in the photograph is a simple case of finding the person who matches the photo visually.
  • Solving the previous panels will be key to figuring out these clues.

Solution

This is a picture of Isaac Nowak from the case Beetle 4.

His body lies on Table B.

His death is linked to the Red Curse.

All Event Solutions

Once you've filled out the rest of the panels, tackling the series of events should be far easier. That's not to say you don't need to figure some other elements out, though!

  • Some people who should know what's going on are actually confused. Is what's happening at the conference happening as scheduled?
  • What might have caused a change in the speaker's plans? Are the other people here related?
  • If lies are being told, the truth should be accessible somewhere.
  • The computer is relevant in this case. It seems like the owner isn't that familiar with how computers work, though. Why might this be?
  • Who is famous enough to have a press conference held for them?

Solution

New Wells Police scheduled a press conference to announce that Isaac Nowak has been a victim of the Red Curse.

Before the conference, Elizabeth Nowak offered Sebastian Walsh a board position and a computer.

As a result, during the conference, Sebastian Walsh declared that Isaac Nowak had been the victim of a tragic accident.
