The final chapter of the second The Rise of the Golden Idol DLC wraps things up with a neat bow - the Lemurian Phoenix is revealed, and we put events in order, finally. Notably, this isn't a case where you have to find words, nor do you have access to the entire story to begin with.

Instead, you're relying on your knowledge of the rest of the DLC's cases to finally draw some conclusions about what's happening. As ever, we've got plenty of hints to help nudge you in the right direction, and all the answers if you just want to move on.

All Event Solutions

To begin with, you'll only have one screen to look at, and it's the results of a certain trial by ordeal.

  • Examining those at the desk will tell you all you need to know about who challenged whom.
  • There's some foul play going on - a plan to make sure one of the challengers would survive. What items are possessed by key people that could aid in a trial? How could someone possibly survive a building that burned to the ground?
  • Someone is missing who should have been an accomplice to those plotting to cheat the trial. Who could this be? Think back to previous cases.
  • There are two hands underneath the rubble in the centre of the screen. Examine them closely - this tells you something that blows the case wide open.
  • Head into the bunker and examine the ladder. This will also give you massive clues as to a certain person's identity.

Solution

Ori Nagasai challenged Koi Nagasai to a trial by ordeal.

Koi Nagasai accepted, thinking he could win if he received a key from Jamati Pirra, unlocked his shackles with it, and then entered a bunker.

But before proceedings began, Jamati Pirra entered the bunker and then locked it with a belt.

As a result, only Jamati Pirra survived.

All Timeline Solutions

Now it's time to order the DLC's events chronologically! You get more scenes to examine here to help you.

  • As a first hint, do not assume that this is the latest event in the timeline just because it's the last case of the DLC.
  • Why would the cinema be showing a film about Pravi for an entire week?
  • Gresto was alive during Koi's miracle.
  • What actually led to the trial by fire? We've seen the exact spark that put the idea in Ori's head.

Solution

  1. Pravi's murder
  2. Cinema screening
  3. Koi's 'miracle'
  4. Gresto's burial
  5. Ori's revelation
  6. Trial by fire
  7. Lutri's murder

All Plan Solutions

We know the outcome of the trial by ordeal, but who set these things in motion?

  • Think about who benefits the most from the trial.
  • This is the one panel in the DLC where you'll want to check the documents that were unlocked in the Lemurian Phoenix DLC's stage selection screen. Hint: The relevant page is the Lemurian Times newspaper, and it will help explain multiple things.
  • Combine the dialogue in the cinema with the timeline. Something was set in motion early on to lead to the final outcome. What is the only possible reasoning with these events in mind?

Solution

Jamati Pirra knew when to hide in the bunker because Jamati Pirra told Ori Nagasai the trial date.

Motivated by revenge, his final goal, which he achieved, was to kill Lutri Manzek.

All Execution Solutions

Put everything together and you've got a full explanation of the story's events.

  • We know the killer's motive, which solves the first paragraph. Think about the role of the First Sentinel in government.
  • The second paragraph deals with the waterfall scene in this case. Check the man's belongings and think on what he was doing in a previous case.
  • Knowing that he had access to the waterfall, can you imagine the killer turning up in yet another case involving the waterfall?
  • The fourth paragraph deals with the trial by fire and should be easy to deduce based on the hands under the rubble and the eventual outcome.
  • The final paragraph allows you to see clearly what happened in the very first case.

Solution

Jamati Pirra wanted to kill Lutri Manzek, Koi Nagasai and Ori Nagasai, because together they had ordered that his parents, Shastai Ackai and Danizi Ackai, be executed.

Jamati Pirra was able to access the waterfall because Koi Nagasai gave him the code so that Gresto Nozi's body could be buried there.

Later, Jamati Pirra returned and spoke to Ori Nagasai from behind the waterfall, ordering him to hold a trial by ordeal.

Before the trial began, Jamati Pirra locked himself inside the bunker, leaving Koi Nagasai and Ori Nagasai to die.

All this led to Jamati Pirra being appointed first sentinel, giving him access to Lutri Manzek.
