The Palworld TCG Is Here, And Its Promising Potential Is Clear
When I first heard that Palworld is getting its own trading card game, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. The highly popular monster-collecting video game does seem like a great fit for it, though, and I’ve got plenty of space on my table right alongside my collection of TCGs. By the time I was offered the chance to take a more detailed look, I was excited to see how the gun-featuring, survival-focused, experience could be brought to the competitive card gaming scene.
After getting my hands on some decks and giving things a few rounds with local friends, I’m pleased to report that a genuine challenger has entered the ring, and whether you’re primarily a Palworld aficionado, or you’re mainly just a diehard TCG vet, there’s loads here to enjoy. The Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME sports five main card types: Pals, Gears, Events, Structures, and Souls. The first four combine into your play deck, while Souls are their own side deck.
Fun Times With Plenty Of Pals
Combat is often front-and-center in the Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME, but it is by no means the only aspect. That alone intrigues me, not least of which because it’s a proper reflection of Palworld itself—players also need to collect resources and get set for some nice-and-sturdy basebuilding. Echoes of the engaging crafting and survival mechanics of the main game abound.
Your deck, whether pre-assembled (as part of the “Dawn of Palpagos” trial decks) or built from scratch, can include up to two colors. If you’re rolling with the trial decks, you’ll have a choice between Red and Blue or Green and Purple. From there, it’s off to the proverbial races, so enjoy tagging in Pals like Relaxaurus and good old-fashioned weaponry like a Single-Shot Rifle. Pals themselves include three key stats—Cost, Power, and Strike—and gorgeous artwork to accompany them.
You’ll probably want to check out those trial decks to get started. They really are the best way to familiarize yourself with the Palworld Official Card Game.
Now is the perfect time to play, as a Demo Caravan is visiting over 200 retail locations throughout July. If you can swing by one of those stores, you’ll snag a prototype deck, an accompanying deckcase, a Chillet foiled promo card, and Bushi Navi event flair.
Check out a full-fledged demo video below, and hop on over to the Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME’s website for more information on the TCG that’s shaping up to shake things up in 2026.
