Hyrule is a vast land with many diverse and iconic locations. Though the shape of the kingdom differs depending on which game you're playing, familiar places like Hyrule Castle, Kakariko Village, and Gerudo Valley tend to appear in most iterations of The Legend of Zelda series.

Zora's Domain is another location you will stumble upon during most of Link's adventures. The home of the Zora species is usually found close to the water and often requires you to learn how to swim or breathe underwater before seeing it. Zora's Domain has appeared in most Legend of Zelda games and gives you insight into their culture and politics, but some versions are much more fun to visit than others.

7 A Link Between Worlds

In most Legend of Zelda games, you usually need to have the right resources or tools - which takes time - to reach Zora's Domain. In A Link Between Worlds, you can tackle any dungeon in whatever order you like, which means you can visit the home of the Zora sooner than usual.

Unfortunately, it's one of the less-memorable interpretations of the region and doesn't feel as magnificent as other iterations. Hidden behind a waterfall, this Zora's Domain contains a single room with a central pond that Queen Oren occupies. The music here is phenomenal, but the interior feels emptier than other versions of Zora's Domain.

6 Hyrule Warriors

Zora's Domain appears in most mainline titles, but it's also been featured in multiple spin-off games, including Hyrule Warriors. While there isn't much story content here, it's one of the largest depictions of the area in any game. The map encompasses Ocarina of Time's depictions of Zora's Domain, Lake Hyrule, and Water Temple, and battling countless waves of enemies at the foot of King Zora's throne is the perfect setting for this Musou game.

Running through the halls of Zora's Domain in Hyrule Warriors can be a blast, but you'll likely be too distracted by the plethora of enemies and objectives to have the time to soak it all in. Certain missions in the Adventure Mode test your knowledge instead of your combat skills, so if you want to walk through the halls of Zora's Domain at your own pace, these quests will allow you to take in the view without being swarmed by Bokoblins.

5 Ocarina Of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the first game to feature a location known as Zora's Domain. Similar areas in older titles like A Link To The Past were called Zora's Waterfall, but Ocarina of Time helped establish their home and kingdom. The first iteration of Zora's Domain was jaw-dropping at the time, but there have been better interpretations since it was first visited in 1998.

The only issue with Ocarina of Time's version of Zora's Domain is how empty it feels. The area is essentially a giant cave with a waterfall inside it. A long set of stairs will eventually lead you to the throne room where King Zora sits, but even this room feels bland after your first visit. It did, however, introduce the world to the iconic theme song of Zora's Domain.

4 Tears Of The Kingdom

You usually don't get to re-visit Zora's Domain from previous games, but The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the rare direct sequels in the series. A lot has changed since the events of Breath of the Wild, and the biggest issue currently surrounding Zora's Domain is the amount of sludge that's dirtying their rivers and blocking their pathways in and out of the area.

When you first arrive, you might think you accidentally walked into a lost stage from Super Mario Sunshine. It's ultimately your goal to locate the source of the sludge and stop it from causing any more harm. This version of Zora's Domain is essentially the same as the one in Breath of the Wild, with young Zora's running around and friendly locals to welcome you back, as well as a few new statues and water features that have been built in the time between the two games.

3 Majora's Mask

Majora's Mask is one of the few games to feature Zora in a place that's not called Zora's Domain, but the game also takes place in Termina instead of Hyrule. The hotspot for the species is Zora Hall in The Great Bay, which looks more like a concert venue than a kingdom. It's a vast area full of interesting characters to talk to and secrets to uncover.

If you're a fan of music, you might want to hang out at Zora Hall until the bouncers have to kick you out. There is a local band known as The Indigo-Go's that play here often, but by the time you arrive, the lead singer - Lulu - loses her voice after her eggs are stolen by pirates. Once you retrieve the eggs and complete the Great Bay Temple, you'll be treated to a VIP rehearsal performance that would make anyone jealous.

2 Breath Of The Wild

The Zora's Domain depicted in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most majestic interpretations of the area so far. Located in the Lanyru Region to the east of Hyrule Castle, it's hard not to be awe-struck the first time you see the palace looming over a massive waterfall. It might take a minute to understand the layout, but the simplistic design should help you find anything you need.

Most versions of Zora's Domain are located in caves or behind waterfalls, but the open-concept version in Breath of the Wild allows the city to feel more alive. It's perpetually raining when you first arrive due to Divine Beast Ruta, which could flood the area if it's not stopped. After starting the quest to put an end to the downpour, you'll be able to unlock the vital Zora Armor that gives you the ability to swim up waterfalls, making exploring this beautiful locale much easier.

1 Twilight Princess

There is a sense of dread that lingers throughout The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and few locations seem to be in bad shape as Zora's Domain. When you first arrive, you'll discover that the area has been completely frozen over, and the Zora are stuck beneath the ice, unable to do anything until it thaws. Fortunately, Midna can help you transport something hot from Death Mountain to melt the ice and free the fish folk.

The scale of the Zora's Domain in Twilight Princess is massive, even compared to iterations in games like Breath of the Wild. The caves and paths alongside the mountainside help make the area feel lived in, and you can easily picture what life was like here hundreds of years ago. You'll need to revisit Zora's Domain a few times during your adventure, but it's always a trip worth looking forward to.
