In the Faron Wetlands, a misunderstanding leads to imprisonment. We'll show you how to break out and escape from the Deku Scrubs. While they're easily upset, they're not the brightest little saplings. Here's how to escape the prison in the Faron Wetlands so you can restore the rift!

How To Escape The Faron Wetlands Prison

After a misunderstanding when restoring the Stilled Blossu's House rift, the Deku Scrubs will throw you into prison. They're enraged that you would ruin the limitless cotton candy for them and want you to stay in your cell until you learn your lesson.

Thankfully, that doesn't have to be for long. You can make your escape as soon as the guard walks away from the cell door.

The Deku Scrubs have confiscated your rod, so you can't use echoes!

How To Get The Key

As soon as the guard leaves, you can move around. However, there's not much you can do. The guard left a key behind in their hurry to leave, and it's just out of reach.

Send Tri out and bind them to the key. Carefully drag the key back into the cell, then pick it up. Use the key to unlock your cell door! You can now wander about the prison in search of an escape route. No, you can't walk out the front door – that would be too easy.

If the guards see you, you'll be sent back to your cell. However, you'll still retain the key so you can leave.

How To Get Your Rod Back

To get your rod back, you'll have to make your way through the prison with only your wits and Tri's help. The door to the northwest will lead you to a chamber filled with boxes and guards.

Pick up the boxes and place them quietly to block the Deku Scrub's vision as you sneak past them. Throw and shatter pots to distract them when needed so you can get by.

Be patient and stay out of sight, or you'll have to start over!

Go through the door to the west where you'll find two more cells. Use the prison cell key to unlock the door of the cell on the right. Move the furniture around so you can climb up to the platform on the right.

Head through the eastern door to find a Deku Scrub eating cotton candy off your rod. After a moment, the Deku Scrub will finish, and you'll get all of your gear back.

How To Leave The Prison

Now that you have everything back, you can use your echoes to escape the prison. Strike the blue eye in the northern corner of the room, then enter the door to return to the main chamber in the prison. Take the door to the east and use your echoes to climb over the walls.

Hop past the last Deku Scrub and enter the room to the east. Drop down the well and swim through the passage to escape the prison. There are waterfalls here that will force you and your echoes down, but you can stack your echoes to help you bypass these obstacles.

Ascend the ladder at the end to finally escape the prison. When you emerge, Blossu will be waiting for you. They'll give you their membership card so you can continue with the A Rift In The Faron Wetlands quest!
