The Last Of Us Is "Unsupported" On Steam Deck After Buggy PC Launch

The Last Of Us Part 1's PC port has had a rough start to life as Naughty Dog has been frantically trying to fix its issues. Issues so plentiful the studio has now admitted making sure the port is Steam Deck verified has now slipped down its list of priorities.
Part 1 is now officially unsupported on Steam Deck (via PCGamesN). That doesn't mean it won't play on the handheld console at all, but it does mean you'll likely be in for a bad time if you try it on the go. That's almost a certainty considering the problems the game has suffered with so far.

“While we know many of you would like to play The Last of Us Part 1 on Steam Deck, we are prioritizing fixes and patches before submitting it for verification,” Naughty Dog tweeted. An interesting twist as it was heavily implied The Last Of Us would be verified on arrival. Neil Druckmann said the game would be verified and Valve used images from the game in Steam Deck ads ahead of launch.
It was never actually confirmed the port would be verified on day one, but the implication was there. As for fixing those problems, Part 1 on PC has already received two hotfixes with a third coming today. There should also be a larger patch rolled out later this week.
Issues with the port arose almost immediately after launch as many of you reported persistent crashing and long load times. It's not all been bad news, though. As is often the case when a game launches in a bit of a state, the port has provided plenty of meme fodder. Most notably Steam Deck Joel whose thick eyebrows and patchy hair arguably make him look more like someone who has been living through an apocalypse for 20 years.
