The Last Of Us season two is only one episode old and it has already sparked a spirited debate. It doesn't revolve around the controversial topics The Last Of Us Part 2 is known for, though (don't worry, they'll come), but a decision Ellie makes when she's faced with a clicker.

Ellie and Dina explore a market after they and some others find a bear that has been attacked by infected right outside. The surviving clickers appear to have ventured into the market, leaving a trail of blood behind them. Once inside the building, Ellie uses a bottle to get the clicker's attention. It's that decision that has sparked the first of many season two debates.

Those who have played The Last Of Us games will know that ammo and weapons are scarce. However, its world is littered with discarded bottles and loose bricks. Ellie using a bottle in the show has sparked celebrations from some, claiming the hat tip to be confirmation that bottles are a better in-game item than bricks. On the flip side, TLOU's brick lovers are outraged the adaptation has shown the bottle some love over their preferred item.

I had no idea this was something people were so passionate about. There are debates on Reddit dating back six years. For the record though, while we're picking sides, bottles are far better than bricks.

BuzzFeed's Nora Dominick claimed Ellie reaching for the bottle in Sunday night's premiere received a standing ovation in her house, and based on the replies, a lot of people agree with her (and me) in the belief that bottles are a better TLOU item than bricks. Radec shared a similar reaction, labeling those who prefer bottles over bricks as Bottleheads.

There are bricks supporters (I'll let them name themselves, brickheads is there but I'd advise against it) out there, and they're not happy to see the bottle getting all this love with bricks nowhere to be seen. They argue that the brick is the superior item since it stuns enemies longer than the bottle when it connects, and because it can be used as an additional melee weapon in The Last Of Us Part 1.

While I am very much team bottle, it does ultimately depend on what you need from the item in the game. If you're trying to distract a clicker or a raider, then you'll want to use the bottle. If you want to do some damage, then the brick is probably a better choice. Hopefully the brick will also get its time in the spotlight in season two, it's only fair.
