Three years after The Last Of Us Part 2 launched and smashed all sorts of Game of the Year records, the critically acclaimed sequel is getting remastered for the PS5. It's an unpopular decision for some people, but one that does make sense when you consider the timing of the original game's launch, missing out on the PS5's arrival by less than six months. There's also a $10 upgrade track for anyone who already owns Part 2 on PS4, just like there has been for countless other games that have launched on last-gen and current-gen consoles.
If all you want to do is replay a better-looking version of the game and experience all the other extras Naughty Dog will be throwing in, and you already own The Last Of Us Part 2, then you can pay $10 when the remaster launches on January 19, 2024. Whether you already own The Last Of Us Part 2 or not, the remaster's WLF Edition may tempt you. On top of a physical copy of the game that comes in a steelbook with all of the in-game extras already mentioned, the WLF Edition also comes with 47 Society of Champions trading cards - the ones you can find throughout the game - a Washington Liberation Front patch, and four enamel pins all modeled after things from the game. Those are all physical items, not digital in-game ones.
