Thankfully, once you get the hang of things, the process is an easy one. But there are a few caveats to this upgrade system you'll want to keep your eye on. After all, those Skill Points don't come cheap, and knowing how to invest is certainly in the repertoire of any secret agent worth their salt.

How To Upgrade Your Agents' Skills

Within the Agents tab at the Hideout, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade the skills of agents. This will increase their damage outputs, give them new abilities, and increase their overall effectiveness out in the field.

To upgrade them, you'll have to open their Skill Tree and select the skill you'd like to learn. Watch out, though; each skill will cost a certain number of Skill Points.

As you further your abilities on the Skill Tree, the cost of each tier of upgrades will increase.

Tier One Upgrade

1 Point

Tier Two Upgrades

2 Points each

Tier Three Upgrades

4 Points each

Tier Four Upgrades

8 Points each

Tier Five Upgrades

12 Points each

Unfortunately, your Skill Points are shared between all agents. While this means that you can give points to any agent, it also means that you'll have to be careful who you upgrade and when.

Skill Points are a heavy commodity in the early game, so care should be taken in your investments.

How To Gain Skill Points

Skill points are given by completing missions. You can see how many Skill Points are awarded for a mission by looking at the task on the World Map.

These points are given to your team as a whole and not individual agents. This means that who you send to a mission does not affect the Skill Points you gain or how you wish to distribute them.

You do not get Skill Points if you accept a mission and retreat during it.

At this point in time, it does not appear that you can respec the points of characters. All purchases are final, and no refunds will be handed out.

When you're dealt a hand of cards in this game, there's no taking back what you've shown on the table.NEXT: The Lamplighter’s League Review - There Is A Light That Sometimes Goes Out
