That's Not My Neighbor: All Nightmare Mode Neighbors

During your first Nightmare Mode playthrough in That's Not My Neighbor you are sure to notice that the Neighbors you are protecting are nowhere near as lovable as those you got to know in Arcade Mode. In Nightmare Mode, you become the Doorman for Nightmare Neighbors, nightmarish versions of the Arcade Mode Neighbors.

We'll walk you through how to catch convincing Doppelgangers.
Posts 1While Nightmare Neighbors may seem familiar in some cases, don’t be fooled by their similarities to regular Neighbors. The file folders and apartment assignments in Nightmare Mode are remixed, and so is the information assigned to each Neighbor. Don’t operate on outdated information, or you’ll get yourself killed.
What Are Nightmare Neighbors?
Just like in Arcade Mode, your job as a Doorman in the Doorman's Nightmare (also known as Nightmare Mode) is to protect the Neighbors in your building from evil Doppelganger impostors. However, Neighbors won't look like harmless humans in this difficulty mode.
In Nightmare Mode, you instead have to protect Nightmare Neighbors. Nightmare Neighbors are terrifying and grotesque versions of Arcade Mode Neighbors. These new Neighbors have different professions, appearances, identification information, and, in some cases, apartments than the Neighbors in Arcade Mode.
Because of the total appearance overhaul in Nightmare Mode, it is much more difficult to recognize Doppelgangers using visual clues alone. Nightmare Neighbors have complicated tattoos, appearances, appendages, accessories, and other visual identifiers.
Doppelgangers in this game mode are more difficult to catch by appearance because they deviate so slightly from the appearance of the original Nightmare Neighbor. In some cases, you'll need to go so far as to count the appendages or horns on a Neighbor. Such as for Shub Niggurath and Lilith Lilituu Lilit.
Unlike in Arcade Mode, the easiest way to catch a Doppelganger in Nightmare Mode is to catch inconsistencies in falsified documents. In this game mode, you can still catch Doppelgangers with incorrect I.D. numbers, name spelling, occupations, or for not being on the Daily Visitor List.
Make sure to check and double-check the file folders on the right of your screen. If you are struggling to remember I.D. numbers, consider having a pen and notepad handy while you play. Or, keep this guide open in another tab!
How Are Nightmare Neighbors Organized?
Just like in Arcade Mode, Nightmare Neighbors are organized by floor level and apartment number. Between rounds, Nightmare Neighbors are also organized by the Daily Visitor List.
Floors and apartments will never change, but the Daily Visitor List will change each playthrough, so be sure to check the list at the beginning of every round.
The Nightmare Office has the same number of floors and apartment units as Arcade Mode, so the general layout of your file folders will be the same. However, the Neighbor distribution between floors is different from Arcade Mode.
Nightmare Neighbors that correspond to regular Neighbors won't always have the same roommates as before, so make sure you're double and triple-checking room numbers!
Just like in Arcade Mode, the file folders will give you a description and photo of each Neighbor, as well as an I.D. number, name, profession, and apartment phone number.
For more information on how Neighbor organization works using the file folders, check out the Beginner's Guide or Complete Guide To Neighbors.
Remember that File Folder information is always 100 percent correct, and while I.D.s and other documents can be falsified, the information in the folders will never be falsified. Always double-check identifiers with the information in your File Folders.
In Nightmare Mode, Nightmare Doppelgangers will still try to fool you with falsified documents! Always use the File Folder or Daily Visitor List photos to check a visitor's appearance. Some Doppelgangers with incorrect appearances will update their fake I.D. photo to match their incorrect appearance. Be thorough!
All Nightmare Mode Neighbor Information
While you always have access to the information in the File Folders, it's sometimes more difficult to keep swapping between folders and I.D.s to check information.
For instance, it can get tedious to keep flipping between an I.D. and the File Folder to check a Neighbor's appearance or I.D. number. In cases like this, it's helpful to have every Nightmare Neighbor's information neatly laid out for future comparison.
For this reason, we've compiled a comprehensive list of all Nightmare Neighbor information found in the File Folders. Feel free to use this information while you play for faster Neighbor recognition!
