Out of the whips available, you may get your hands on the elusive Morning Star whip. This whip functions like a normal one but has some slight upgrades that can come in handy while battling enemies. Here, we are going to go over how you can get your own Morning Star whip.

Where Does The Morning Star Whip Drop From?

via Waifu Simulator 27/YouTube

The Morning Star whip is an enemy drop, meaning that you can't craft it. Instead, it will drop from certain enemies found in the Dungeon once your world has transitioned to Hardmode and after Plantera has been defeated. The whip has a 0.5 percent to drop from each specified enemy on Classic mode.

If you are playing on Expert of Master Mode, then this drop rate will increase to one percent.

Below, you can check out these enemies, as well as what they look like.

Enemy

Appearance

Blue Armored Bones

Rusty Armored Bones

Hell Armored Bones

Each enemy has four different variations that you can encounter.

Where Do Bone Enemies Spawn In The Dungeon?

All three enemies above don't just appear everywhere; the background wall determines which enemy appears. Below, you can check out the wall that spawns behind each bone-type enemy.

Wall Appearance

Blue Armored Bones

Brick Wall

Rusty Armored Bones

Slab Wall

Hell Armored Bones

Tiled Wall

Each wall can come in blue, green, or pink.

Overall, we suggest going through the Dungeon as normal; as you explore, you will pass through areas with these wall types.

What Is The Post-Plantera Hardmode Dungeon?

The post-Plantera Hardmode Dungeon is a mouthful, but essentially, this means that you need to defeat the Wall of Flesh and Plantera before these enemies appear and drop the Morning Star whip.

The Wall of Flesh is a boss that lies at the bottom of the world; once defeated, the world will enter Hardmode. After doing this, you will still need to defeat Plantera. Doing so will bring up the following message.

  • Screams are echoing from the dungeon...

With both bosses slain, you can now head into the Dungeon and find these enemies. It's important to note that the Dungeon is dangerous. Before setting out, be sure to have plenty of healing items, as well as strong weapons and armor. Additionally, we suggest bringing a stack of basic blocks to make scaffolding (and defensive walls) when needed.

How To Use The Morning Star Whip

The Morning Star whip will cause minions to target and attack the last-hit enemy. If you only aim at one enemy, then the minion will target them. If, on the other hand, you attacked a group, then the minion will go for the last one.

Below, you can check out some information about the Morning Star whip.
