It also unlocked a new manner of collaboration for the series: in-game merchandise. The possibilities are nearly endless, and we’ll probably eventually see every character turned into an avatar. What would you like your own avatar to look like in future updates?

6 Firework Celebrations

A Disappointing Addition

Although they're not an avatar skin, fireworks are still a paid customization that you can use with your avatar in the lounge, so they made the list. These fireworks come in eight different colors and with the worst asterisk in the game's entire shop. Not only are they quite underwhelming, they're also consumables.

Although you pay 50 or 100 coins for each firework pack, you can only use them a few times before they run out. When that happens, you have to buy another pack. This would be a good package for the price for those who want to use it, if it was infinite. Having these be consumed on use will likely just make players not buy them at all, or buy them, but use them so rarely that you'll never see one in your lounge.

5 UT x TEKKEN Merch

Digital Merch

Uniqlo, the Japanese casual wear brand, is starting to diverge into the world of merchandise, and they've bet big on the fighting game scene. After making t-shirts with Street Fighter designs for the UT line, they've expanded into the digital realm with Tekken. With this item, your avatar can wear a branded Tekken 8 t-shirt as they walk through the lounge. Although this isn't too impressive, it is a cool initiative and it's free.

Unlike the full avatar skins, you can mix and match this one with other apparel, as can be seen in the image. You can also match your avatar with your favorite characters, as the pack comes with t-shirts that you can use during matches. This t-shirt also looks exactly like one that Uniqlo has available in their store, which is a really cool touch.

4 Shaheen

A Great Skin

Shaheen is a full avatar skin. It will change your character's look into his Tekken 8 outfit, with the classic bobblehead look that all avatars have. Oddly, this fits quite well with Shaheen's Shemagh and looks natural. Additionally, his face retains most of its real appearance, and doesn't turn him into a Mii.

Unfortunately, the emote that comes in the purchasable package is underwhelming. The Altair is a signature move, but ends up just looking like a weird jump here. If you're a Shaheen main, though, this avatar skin is a winner. The shemagh and scarf are well animated, so they'll give you quite a unique look while moving, and while doing your Altair emote.

3 Raven

Ninjutsu?!

Raven's Tekken 8 outfit didn't translate as well into the avatar proportions. His head looks ridiculously oversized, which makes him look like a more complex Funko Pop. This is further emphasized because Raven has very short hair and no head-wear at all, which isn't the case for the other avatar skins available.

If you're into the bobble-head look, though, this won't be an issue. His armor does look fantastic here and definitely stands out in the lounge and, much like Shaheen, he kept most of his facial features from his character in-game. Regardless of what you think of his model, Raven's avatar emote is great. The classic Soulzone stance comes with some discreet, yet fancy alpha effects, which give the skin a cool touch.

2 Reina

Show Off Your Electrics

Reina Mishima looks a lot more natural with the avatar proportions. Although her face turned into that of a Nintendo Wii Mii, her hair translates perfectly into this look. Her more casual-looking outfit also fits very naturally into the lounge's aesthetics, so you won't stand out as much as the other avatar skins. Fear not, though, they give you exactly what you need if standing out is what you're looking for.

Not only does her model look great, she also comes with one of the coolest avatar emotes available: her signature Electric War God Kick. This kick comes with the fancy purple and yellow electric alpha effects, giving it that extra oomph, without needing you to do a very difficult just-frame input.

1 King

The King Of The Lounge

King is the best looking avatar skin available in the Tekken Shop. His mask translates perfectly into the oversized bobble head look, and his cape looks fantastic. The cape reacts to movement in a very noticeable manner, which really helps King stand out from the other avatar skins. He also looks weirdly proportional for the usual avatar look.

If that wasn't enough to convince you, the wrestler brings one of the longest and flashiest avatar emotes available: his Moonsault Body Press. You'll be drawing quite a few looks in the lounge with this one, and giving your future opponents a warning to go train their throw breaks.
