However, one Trophy/Achievement, Despair, sticks out from the rest, being a bit unique to obtain. While the description is straightforward, when and where you can get it during The Dark Awakens' final Chapter is where things get tricky. But once you know when and how to acquire it, you will be more than golden!

How To Obtain The Despair Trophy/Achievement In Tekken 8

The 'Despair' Trophy/Achievement in Tekken 8 is obtained by having Kazuya defeat Jin in the final encounter of The Darkness Awakens, the game's Story Mode. This takes place in the mode's 15th Chapter, which can be revisited anytime after clearing it.

Obtaining The Despair Trophy/Achievement In Tekken 8

To get the Despair Trophy Achievement, keep defeating Kazuya with Jin up to the point where you have to press 'X/A' for the 'I Will Not Deny My Existence' option. After nailing that quick-time event, Kazuya's Health Bar will be glowing red, signaling that he's in a Rage state.

Once you're at this point in the encounter, have Kazuya beat you down,draining your HP to nothing. After doing this the first time, Jin will stand up and say, '...I'm Still In This!' His Health Bar will now be glowing red, placing you in a Rage state as well.

Jin will regain all his health, and you must let Kazuya drain all of it again. Once this is done, instead of getting the standard 'You Lose' screen, you will get a cutscene that shows Kazuya defeating Jin, giving you the Despair Ending. After the credits roll, you will obtain the Despair Trophy/Achievement and the 'Despair' Title for your Player Profile!

Defeating Kazuya at this stage of the encounter will have Jin emerge victorious, unlocking the 'Hope' Trophy/Achievement and Title. Getting either one of these endings will grant you access to Chapter 15, enabling you to revisit it anytime you like to get the other Trophy/Achievement you missed!
