Rhythm game Taiko No Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival has been on Nintendo Switch since 2022, and it's finally time for other platforms to join the party. Well, almost. Bandai Namco has revealed Rhythm Festival is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on November 7, 2024, and it will be bringing drum controllers along with it for PlayStation and Xbox. Don't worry PC gamers, both of the console-specific drum controllers will be compatible with the PC version of the game.

There will be 76 tracks on the base game with the option to subscribe to the Taiko Music Pass which adds more than 700 more songs to your library. Bandai claims all three new versions of Rhythm Festival will be capable of running at 120fps. Fantastic news for a game that relies on pinpoint reactions, and something Bandai notes is a first for the Taiko No Tatsujin series.

Games like Rhythm Festival are fun when using a regular controller, but even more fun when using a controller recreation of the instrument you're playing in the game. The Switch version of the game has its drum controller, so it's only right that PlayStation and Xbox get the same treatment. Both versions of the controller are $99.99 each and are already available for pre-order and again, if you plan on playing on PC, either will work with your version of the game.

The Rhythm Festival Is Coming To More Platforms On November 7

The upcoming ports of Rhythm Festival won't be identical to the Switch version, and not just because they'll be capable of hitting 120fps. There will be songs and characters tied to the new versions with Taiko No Tatsujin versions of Felyne from Monster Hunter and Mega Man shown off in the trailer. If you're not sure if Rhythm Festival is for you, a demo on all three platforms is available right now. If you like what you find, or you already know you want it, you can place your pre-order now and get five bonus tracks pulled from classic Namco games for doing so.

The arrival of Rhythm Festival on more major platforms will bookend a good year for rhythm game fans that began with the return of the guitar controller. The arrival of Fortnite Festival brought with it a promise that the guitar controller would be making a comeback, and that promise was fulfilled. PDP created the Riffmaster, a guitar controller that's compatible with Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4. We're still waiting for the rest of Rock Band's peripherals to return, but until then, Taiko No Tatsujin has your virtual drumming needs covered.
