Gems are essential for winning any match in Squad Busters. These can drop from various sources during a match, whether it be from killing boss monsters, chopping down trees, or collecting from the Gem mine.

Posts 1Even though there are multiple sources, you need to be mindful how you prioritize farming gems during a match. If you plan on getting all your gems from trees, getting in the top five can be quite tough. So, here's a guide on how to optimally farm gems in Squad Busters.
How To Farm Gems In Squad Busters
Gems serve multiple purposes in Squad Buster, whether it be to help you progress toward victory in a match or to help you get ahead in the game by completing the Gem Pass faster. But to get the highest amount of gems in each match consistently, you need to collect them more efficiently.
Here are all the ways by which you can gather gems in Squad Busters:
- Kill Boss Monsters
- Bust Opponent Squads
- Battle Mod Objectives
- Resource Collection
The above list of ways to collect gems has been ranked based on their efficiency. Only the last two methods can be interchangeable depending upon the Battle Mod type.
For example, in Super Gem Mine you can get more gems without having to farm resources, while in Gem Overload, you'll want to farm more often.
Kill Boss Monsters
Killing Boss Monsters like Golems, Baby Dragons, and in some Battle Mods, Tree Giants, and Loot Goblins, drop a lot of gold and Gems in a match. While this can be tough in the early game, this is the most effective way to farm gems consistently if you've got a strong squad or have characters like Bo, that can deal extra damage to monsters.
Bust Opponent Squads
The second and another good way to farm lots of gems is by busting opponent squads in a match. This will not only eliminate your competition, taking you one step closer to victory, but also reward you with all the gems your opponent had.
Try to do this in the late game, after focusing on farming gold in the early game. That is because most opponent squads don't have many gems to offer in the early game. You can also see the number of gems a squad has at the top of their characters.
Battle Mod Objectives
A significant part of your gem prospect depends on the Battle Mod of your match. While combat-oriented Battle Mods like Double Trouble or Turbo Overload don't have any effect on your Gem farming capabilities, loot-oriented Battle Mods like Gem Overload or Super Gem Mine can heavily influence the amount of gems you can farm without engaging opponents or even monsters.
In certain Battle Mods like Loot Goblins and Chest Impostors, you should try to take down special monsters rather than collect gems from the Mine, since they offer much more value.
Resource Collection
The final and least efficient way of collecting gems is by farming resources, which can spawn on the map. This isn't the best way to collect gems, since not only do you require special characters like Greg or Mavis to farm the resource, but also, the amount of loot you get in return isn't that great either.
Only in special cases, which include Battle Mods like Loot Surge, Tree Giants, and Gem Overload, collecting gems from resources is worth the value.
