Spider-Man Versions We Want To See In Across The Spider-Verse

After the huge success of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, the sequel has been on every fan's radar for years. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse seems to be building up to be bigger and better and includes a ton of new Spider-Man variants never seen in film before.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the first film, aside from the amazing story, visuals and style, was seeing different Spider-people with unique characteristics interact with each other. With that being the case, and since the trailer for the sequel teased a ton more variants already, here are the different versions of the webhead we'd love to see in the movie.
10 Old Man Spider
Ezekiel Sims is a version of Spider-Man that's akin to the Old-Man Logan storyline's version of Wolverine. Ezekiel took on the mantle after his universe's Peter Parker was killed, and he became a member of the Spider-Army, which consists of various Spider-people.
Ezekiel interacted with Spider-Ham, Penni Parker, and more in his short appearance in the comics, making him quite easy to weave into the existing relationships of the first movie. What makes Old Man Spider great is his high-collar trenchcoat-like costume, which would be awesome to see on the big screen.
9 Live Action Spider-Men
Spider-Man is one of the most prominent live-action superheroes, only rivaled by the likes of Batman and Superman. We've had three iconic portrayals already in the last 20 years, and they've even shared scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Across The Spider-Verse is the perfect opportunity to show all the live-action Spider-Men interact with each other once more, which could lead to hilarious dialogue. Voice cameos from Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Macguire would be a great touch too. Why not throw in older live-action portrayals from the 70s and 60s and dedicate a whole scene to them, talking about screen tests or press tours?
8 Spider-UK
As with many iconic American superheroes, Spider-Man also has a UK counterpart. William "Billy" Braddock was acting as a sort of recruiter, looking for Spider-people to join the Spider-army. He has been a semi-prominent variant that was seen in several storylines.
While he's not the most visually stunning, only sporting a Union Jack-like pattern on his suit, it would be a shame to leave him out. The mantle has also been used by a young girl named Zarina Zahari, which could be a fun version to include in the film.
7 Spiders-Man
Spiders-Man is a hilarious and disturbing version of the webhead. This Peter Parker has fallen into a colony of radioactive spiders instead of getting bit by a single one. As such, Peter's consciousness has been absorbed by the colony that became a singular hive-mind of sorts. Comic book logic at its best.

This could be a great comedic character that is also helpful. The dialogue between Miles and a swarm of spiders masquerading as a hero could be absolutely iconic. Even as a visual cameo, Spiders-Man would be a joy to see.
6 Six-Armed Spider-Man
The six arms saga is actually a plot that was written by the man himself, Stan Lee, for the main universe Spider-Man, that spanned three issues. It tells how Peter grew four extra arms while trying to get rid of his powers in a sort of cautionary tale. The storyline was also adapted into the classic 90s cartoon show.
However, in the Spider-Verse story of the comics, we meet a version of the character that has adapted to having six arms after realizing it could be useful. This is both a great nod to a specific story as well as an actual variant that could easily be seen in the upcoming movie.
5 Ghost-Spider
Ghost-Spider is a very interesting character that has unfortunately not been realized fully. He is mostly known for being a badass skin in many games, including Marvel's Spider-Man for the PS4. While a convoluted story explaining his origin may not be worth the screen time, he could be a cool addition to the roster.
This Spider-Man has been infused with repentant damned souls thanks to Dr. Banner, the Sorcerer Supreme of his own universe. That could lead to some rights issues with Sony and Disney, though, so the Ghost-Spider is best reserved for a cameo.
4 Cosmic Spider-Man
Cosmic Spider-Man is an interesting option to include in a movie like Across The Spider-Verse. While he's had an important role in the comic book Spidey crossover, he might be a tad too powerful to be relegated to a side character.

Cosmic Spider-Man has the powers of the Enigma Force, a deity that is on par with the gods of the Marvel Universe. His part in the comic book run was big but didn't overshadow other characters, and it'd be totally awesome to see him appear in the movie as a powerhouse to tip the scales in our heroes' favor.
3 Spider-X
Spider-X is actually not an alternate universe version of Spider-Man. Instead, he's a man named Brian Kornfield that is from the main Marvel Universe in the comics. Through an encounter with demonic magic and an insatiable desire for revenge, he turns into the monstrous Spider-X.
Spider-X could easily be used as a minor villain in a horror-like setup midway through the film. Or he could be shown as a vigilante to juxtapose with his demonic spider apparel. Either way, it would be awesome to see Spider-X on the big screen.
2 Superior Spider-Man
Superior Spider-Man is one of the more expansive and impactful transformations the character went through in recent years. The story revolves around Doctor Octavius swapping consciousnesses with Peter and eventually becoming Spider-Man himself. The character was very fresh and drew in a lot of readers back when it was first published.
Otto, as the Superior Spider-Man, did a lot in his time too. He even had an impactful role as a bit of a leader during the comic version of Spider-Verse. It would be really cool to see him be an actual character and not just a visual cameo, especially since his costume is subdued, but the characterization is awesome.
1 Cartoon Spider-Men
Throughout the years, even more so than live-action, we've had lots and lots of different versions of Spider-Man. Across The Spider-Verse is the perfect movie to celebrate the webhead's history in television and give us glimpses of the iconic cartoon Spider-Men.
Spectacular Spider-Man, the 90s cartoon, the weird MTV animation, the classic 60s cartoon, and more are all incredibly iconic variations of such a classic character. Seeing them all in their own respective art styles would be incredibly fun. It would also make for an infinitely expanded meme shot of Spider-people pointing at each other.
