Sora's Smash Ultimate Amiibo Is Back In Stock At Best Buy For Its Release Day

More than two years ago, Sora was added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. A dream addition for so many Smash fans, and one that brought the curtain down on what is comfortably the biggest roster in the series' history. Due to the tangled web that is licensing Sora, the Kingdom Hearts star becoming an amiibo felt unrealistic. Nintendo got it done though, and today's the day. Sora's Smash amiibo release day, and the figure is back in stock at Best Buy.
You'll want to be quick if you've been eager to add the Sora amiibo to your collection. Pre-orders have been available for a while but have sold out almost immediately whenever restocked. One of the last places the amiibo was available to buy pre-launch was Amazon Japan, a storefront that understandably adds a considerable amount to your final bill if you live outside of Japan due to shipping costs.

PostsBefore you rush to Best Buy through the link in the box below, the caveat appears to be that Sora's amiibo is only available for pickup. That likely means each Best Buy location has varying amounts of the amiibo in stock, and your chances of getting one today will depend on where exactly in the US you live, or how far you're willing to travel. If you're desperate for a Sora amiibo, check a few Best Buy locations to see if there are any relatively close that have the figure in stock.
Sora Amiibo
Brand Nintendo Dimensions 7.4" x 5" x 2.8"Sora's amiibo is real and coming in 2024. The final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character to get his own figure, something that wasn't a sure thing due to Kingdom Hearts' Disney connection.
$16 at Best Buy Expand CollapseSora wasn't only the final fighter added to Smash Ultimate, but he's also the last fighter to get his own amiibo. His inclusion in the game's figure collection means Smash Ultimate has almost 100 of its own amiibo. Every single character has at least one amiibo, and some have multiple. Quite a few Smash characters have seen their amiibo reprinted during the build to Sora's release. Shulk, Terry, and Joker are just a few of the figures that have been available again in recent weeks.
That said, there's no way of knowing if or when an amiibo will be available again. Sometimes Nintendo sells through stock and that's it, while others are easier to find and remain in stock for extended periods. There's also no telling what the future holds for amiibo in general. With a Switch successor announcement likely looming, it's possible Nintendo's plans don't include amiibo at all. An odd choice if Nintendo goes that way considering amiibo popularity, but it wouldn't be the first time Nintendo has done something that goes against the grain.
