Sonic X Shadow Generations Has Already Passed 1 Million Copies Sold

Summary
- Sonic X Shadow Generations has already crossed the 1 million copies sold mark.
- In a press release from Sega, the game has achieved 1 million copies sold across both physical and digital.
- If you were hoping to congratulate Shadow on his success, then think again, as he's not on social media.
Sonic X Shadow Generations may have just been released on Friday, but it's already selling like hotcakes. Just how quickly? How does 1 million copies so far sound? Indeed, the Sega published pseudo-sequel, pseudo-remake of 2011's original Sonic Generations has experienced nothing but success in its first hours.
As first reported by Sonic Stadium, a Sonic fan website, Sega has revealed that the game has already eclipsed the 1 million sales mark. Per Sega's press release, that mark includes physical and digital sales across all platforms.
It's important to note that while the game launched worldwide on Oct. 25, the Digital Deluxe Edition made the game playable three days early for only a nominal added fee. It also includes the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie pack, which is set to feature Keanu Reeves' portrayal of Shadow.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a good remaster of a fan-favourite game, but it's Shadow's story that steals the show, acting as more of a remake.
PostsDon't Try And Congratulate Shadow
Speaking of Shadow, if you were hoping to congratulate him on the success of his first solo adventure in quite some time, then think again. As the PlayStation Twitter account learned first-hand, Shadow doesn't have a Twitter account. Unlike Sonic, who is actively on the social media platform.
In true Shadow fashion, he seemingly doesn't want people following him. That's unfortunate for Shadow because it appears that Sony had a gift ready for him.
Either way, one million copies is certainly an occasion worth celebrating. In The Gamer's review of Sonic X Shadow Generations, Rhiannon Bevan said “Shadow Generations is the Sonic Generations remake I was hoping for, with tighter controls, better level designs, and superior bosses.”
