In Sniper Elite: Resistance, Focus is basically your cheat code to becoming a Nazi-hunting machine. Flick it on, and suddenly you’ve got the ability to spot enemies who think they’re cleverly hidden behind walls, crates, or whatever else they’re using for cover. But before you get too excited about your new superhero powers, let’s remember: nothing comes for free.

So, while you’re out there picking off Nazis like it’s target practice, you'll need to know the full lowdown on how to make Focus work for you. Hang tight folks, we’ve got all the tips you need.

How To Activate Focus Mode

To activate Focus, simply hold the left alt key on your keyboard or hold R3 on your controller. Once activated, you enter a heightened state of awareness where enemies within your line of sight are highlighted in white. This includes enemies even when they are behind walls.

How To Use Focus Mode

While in Focus, nearby enemies are clearly outlined, helping you identify their positions and anticipate their movements. This feature is particularly useful when navigating indoor spaces filled with walls and rooms, where enemies may be hidden or difficult to spot. Additionally, enemies that make noise, such as talking or firing a weapon, will become more noticeable than those remaining silent.

Being in Focus increases your heart rate, which can have a negative impact on your stamina and steadiness when aiming.

You can still perform basic actions, such as climbing or vaulting, while in Focus. This means you can maintain your mobility and use environmental cover to your advantage without losing the benefits of the mechanic. It's important to use Focus strategically and avoid lingering in it for too long to prevent being caught off guard by the physical toll it takes on your character.

If your target is a marked objective, like a kill list enemy or even Hitler in the DLC, Focus mode doesn’t bother with range. You’ll be able to spot them from way farther out than usual.

Skills To Level Up For Better Focus

To fully maximize the effectiveness of Focus, you can level up relevant skills that further enhance the mechanic. We recommend leveling up these skills:

  • In the Body Skills section, focus on upgrading Focus Range to increase the distance at which enemies are highlighted.
  • In the same section, leveling up Focus Movement will allow you to move faster while in Focus, giving you greater agility.
