Beware Of Silksong’s Hunter’s Journal As It Contains Spoilers For A Returning Boss

This article contains minor spoilers for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which itself evidently contains minor spoilers for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Silksong, like Hollow Knight before it, contains a range of stunning boss fights. While the first boss, Moss Mother, fails to really set players' expectations for what's ahead, those that follow are (very difficult) masterpiece after masterpiece.
Many of the game's bosses are one-and-done situations, but, like in Hollow Knight, at least one returns later in the game. If that wasn't obvious following their post-fight reaction, the Hunter's Journal does its best to let you know they return.
Nuu Is Determined For You To Know That One Boss Will Be Back For More
Nuu is a strange pink snail creature found on the third floor of the Halfway Home in Greymoor. Nuu bestows a Wish upon Hornet in the hopes that she will fill out all 100 entries in the Hunter's Journal. These entries document every single enemy and boss in Silksong, along with the number of times they must be defeated before the entry is complete.
Naturally, with the bosses in the game, the entry is marked complete after defeating them. However, there is one boss that reads "Defeat one more to complete the hunter's notes". This, of course, suggests that they will return later in the game.
Final spoiler warning if you don't want to know which boss it is.
The boss in question is Lace, a fencing creature who is first fought in the Deep Docks. Following that fight, she flees the scene and is encountered later on in The Abyss.
Her multiple fights were revealed in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in Silksong's reveal trailer, but there's every chance players didn't clock on, or had forgotten, given it was seven years ago, making the Hunter's Journal entry a bit of a bummer.
Interestingly, Lace mimics Hornet's appearances in the original Hollow Knight, with the now-protagonist appearing as a recurring encounter in that game. Who knows, maybe we'll get Hollow Knight: Lace for the threequel.
