Silent Hill 2 Remake Tragically Removes Comic Sans Sign

Summary
- Silent Hill 2 Remake commits the absolute crime of ridding the game of its use of Comic Sans.
- The wonderfully hideous font was used in the release of Silent Hill 2 that was included in the HD Collection, but has been replaced in the Reemake.
07/10 update: Rejoice! The old Comic Sans sign has been found in the game. It's out of bounds, but it's still there!
The original story follows.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is going down a treat with fans and critics alike, for the most part. Bloober Team appears to have come out swinging despite fears that the remake wouldn't live up to the original, finally giving Silent Hill fans a well-received game for the first time in years.
However, there is one thing that the remake is missing: Comic Sans. That's right, the Silent Hill Ranch sign doesn't use that hideous font anymore, making this an undeniable step down from the version of Silent Hil 2 included in the HD Collection.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Isn't Brave Enough To Use Comic Sans
For those of you who have no idea what we're on about, basically, the original release of Silent Hill didn't use Comic Sans. However, the version of the game that was included in the Silent Hill HD Collection did, for some reason. The visuals of this collection divided reviewers at the time, and given the use of that font, I'm sure you can see why.
So, the remake has instead gone with the vision of the original Silent Hill 2, and uses a font that looks remarkably less silly. Still, it's the end of an era, and something fans quickly spotted as they started playing through the remake.

Is Silent Hill 2 still our special place, or has it become a twisted nightmare?
Posts 1Jokes aside, the remake is going down well with fans so far. There are a few weirdos who have been repeatedly editing the game's Wikipedia page to pretend that it actually reviewed poorly - so much so that the page had to be locked down - but they seem to very much be the outlier here.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is out now, available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
