Some of the new healing demons that have been added to the roster bring powerful skills and innate traits. If none of these pique your interest, there are still the remaining healers from the core game waiting for you.

This list is only for the demons from the Canon of Vengeance.

8 Unicorn

Alignment: Light - Neutral

A symbol of purity and healing, unicorns in games often represent hope. It's a little grandiose for sure, but you’d feel the same way facing down a boss battle with one HP left in the tank. In Vengeance, the symbol returns and continues to be a symbol for healing, though at a much lower level than usual.

This majestic steed comes equipped with Dia, which gives the target a small amount of HP, Patra, which cures one status ailment, but if you choose to level it up, it’ll learn Recarm, which can bring back a member of your party that’s been knocked out. A unicorn is easily outclassed by other healers but can come in handy early in the game.

7 Dis

Alignment: Neutral - Law

Dis is a long-standing companion to humans, she even displays humanity’s penchant for duality. For example, she is both the protector of flora and fauna, but will also draw a weapon and become the master of war she is known for at a moment's notice. Notably, Dis has also been associated with the powerful Valkyrie. It’s an impressive pedigree, to be sure.

When you receive her, she comes healing with a decent Diarama right out the gate, followed by Me Patra, which removes status ailments from all party members. A far cry from her dual persona, but she will still protect you with her magic.

6 Kinmamon

Alignment: Light - Neutral

This Shinto deity will put players through quite a tricky questline before you can have him in your party. A music fan, Kinmamon asks you to search for someone who remembers an old song he loved. It’s an old song, and not many people know it, but eventually, you find someone who does. If you’ve been paying attention to the lyrics, then the quiz part of the questline should be breezy.

He brings along some medium heals, like Mediarama and Diamrita, so it makes you feel as though he’s more of a compendium addition than someone you need to have. Still, there are worse healers to get.

5 Amabie

Alignment: Light - Neutral

During 2020, this adorable yokai became the mascot for the then-unreleased Shin Megami Tensei 5 and represented the hope that the pandemic would quickly go, so the world can get back to what it was before. The internet, doubly so overseas in Japan, took him with open arms and used him to decorate everything until the game’s release. He's as cute, if not cuter, than most Final Fantasy mascots

Not only is he cute, but he comes equipped with a unique skill. Blessings Abound, which activates a healing and cures status ailments for all your allies if one of them is hit with an ailment of their own. That’s not all! They also come with a Media and Samarecarm for all of your allies to stay healthy.

4 Azazel

Alignment: Neutral - Chaos

There isn’t any chaos without Azazel. He descended onto the earth and ended up loving humanity, so he decided to give some information that maybe wasn’t meant for humans to know. That wasn't appreciated by heaven, and he paid his price by being cast out forever.

Azazel prefers using offensive magic, like the fiery Agidyne, or channeling pure energy blasts with Mazandyne, but will access his healing spell Mediarama, if needed in a fight. This teacher of the human arts isn’t going to be caught slipping or vulnerable.

3 Armaiti

Alignment: Light - Law

Let’s get it out there: Armaiti’s design is nearly flawless. It’s a clear callback to her biblically accurate origins, complete with several eyes everywhere. Instead of going full ethereal, her design evokes the dark themes of the game while keeping her beauty intact. Devotion incarnate, she will protect those who are of deep faith.

This desire to protect spills over to her skills. She can heal the whole party at once with Mediarama, bring an ally back to full health with Diarahan, and even shoot off a Megidola if she must. If her user is about to die, her Innate Skill, Heart of Devotion, grants the rest of her party a surge of MP that can help you resurrect the fallen, or quickly melt down your enemy.

2 Yoko

Alignment: Light - Chaos

When you walk the path of chaos, nothing about Law and order makes sense in the (literal) grand scheme of things, so you can mold the future after your desires. Yoko Hiromine was introduced into the Canon of Vengeance to allow the player to get a peek at the other way of thinking. Her Demon form takes the place of Tao should you choose to do what you want instead of following Law.

While not the strongest healer outright, her innate skill will help you keep all your incapacitated allies alive, as it revives all allies in your stock. Not to mention, she has Mediarahan, a healing spell that will bring all party members to full health with no problems. The only issue is how short her role is in your party. Still, she brings an interesting juxtaposition to Tao’s beliefs.

1 Tao

Alignment: Light - Law

Tao is the only character you can say is returning for the first time! In pre-vengeance, she could be used as a demon, but only for a limited time depending on the choices you make throughout the game. Now that the game allows human party members, you get a chance to play with her in your party. As great as this is, it’s her demon form that’s more interesting.

For starters, any demon that isn’t active in combat will be healed from status ailments when Tao is in the party, thanks to her innate skill, Saint’s Prayer. Her light of order skill gives the party some HP, while also boosting all stats by one point and removing debuffs at the same time. You can’t go wrong with a jack-of-all-trades healing spell.
