Many of the quests in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance involve brutal acts of demon hunting, taking on incredibly tough foes, or finding obscure objects. A few quests, on the other hand, are a bit more constructive and positive in nature: one such quest is Home Sweet Home.

Home Sweet Home has you aiding a sweet family of demon birds who find the harsh environment of Minato a tough place to live. They have some specific demands for their new home, though, so you'll need to do some legwork if you want to truly help them and give them a better chance at life.

How To Complete Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home is a quest given to you by a family of three Halphas found near the Nagatacho Leyline Fount in Minato, just outside the Tokyo Diet Building. The Halphas want to find a place to live that suits their needs:

  • The place must be cool.
  • The place must be sturdy.
  • The place must come with a strong bodyguard to protect them.

The solution to this is found within another side quest - to complete Home Sweet Home, you'll first need to complete Movin' On Up. This side quest is found to the west of the Nagatacho LeylineFount and is very simple - it involves talking to some NPCs and then defeating an Oni.

The Oni can be a tough opponent thanks to his strong physical attacks, but he's easy to beat if you exploit his weaknesses to Electricity and Light.

Once you've completed that quest, the Oni will stay in his cave, despondent at not being the leader of a gang.

Once you've picked up the Home Sweet Home side quest and are on the lookout for a new place for the Halphas, talk to the Oni in the cave, and then follow the next steps, which involve reporting the cave's whereabouts to the Halphas and then putting on a convincing performance outside it.

Upon completion of this quest, you'll receive some experience and the Unwrit Chaos Periapt, which unlocks a Magatsuhi move usable by pairs of Neutral Chaos demons of the applicable races.
