Schedule 1 Now Has A “Chilling, Atmospheric Horror” Knock-Off, And It's Topping Download Charts

Summary
- Mobile game copycats using visuals from Schedule 1 are topping Apple charts.
- Descriptions of knock-off games deviate from original game content.
- Players misled by the knock-off game are leaving one-star reviews for falsely representing the original game.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, apparently. Though I'm sure that's not what Schedule 1 creator, Tyler, is thinking.
The indie developer has already been forced to issue a statement regarding copycats that have appeared on PlayStation, using it as an opportunity to share his desire for a port. However, it seems that this hasn't deterred those looking to make a quick buck off the game's overnight success.

"Words like these reinforce false narratives and cause harm, especially when normalized in games we love."
Posts 9First spotted on Reddit, a new mobile game that is clearly a rip-off of Tyler's smash hit has stormed up the Apple charts, claiming to be a "Chilling, atmospheric horror experience."

As soon as you read the description for the game titled "Schedule 1 Mobile Game 2025", it's clear something is amiss.
"Schedule 1 Mobile Game 2025 is a chilling, atmospheric horror experience that thrusts you into the restless, late-night hours of a small-town gas station," it reads. "Step into the shoes of Sarah, a college student who has just begun her first night shift at an isolated fuel stop on the outskirts of town.
As the night deepens, strange occurrences and unsettling sounds escalate, blurring the lines between reality and fear.
"As the night deepens, strange occurrences and unsettling sounds escalate, blurring the lines between reality and fear. With each passing minute, the station grows eerily quiet, and the shadows seem to stretch unnaturally. What starts as an ordinary shift quickly spirals into a desperate struggle for survival as Sarah realizes she is not alone-something, or someone, is watching her every move."
Whether you've played Schedule 1 or just have a passing knowledge of it, you'll know this isn't what the drug-dealing simulator is about. At all. Instead, the description reads like the response from ChatGPT after somebody has given it the nebulous prompt: "write me a video game storyline".
Using Schedule 1's trademark visuals, however, Schedule 1 Mobile Game 2025 is storming up the Apple App Store charts. Costing £4, or the equivalent in your local country, TheGamer has verified that the knock-off sits atop the App Stores Role-Playing Game chart, beating out the likes of Stardew Valley, Papers, Please, and Slay the Spire.
Naturally, the game has a rating of one star out of five, as players are clearly upset that they have been misled.
This copycat is another instance of Schedule 1 being used for nefarious means. Last week, we reported that some of the game's most popular mods were a front for installing malware onto players' PCs.
