Super Mario Party Jamboree is fun no matter which board you’re choosing to play on, but almost half the game boards are locked when you first get started with the game. Two of these boards are returning from previous Mario Parties, while the last board to unlock is new to Jamboree.

Unlocking every board in Super Mario Party Jamboree is tied to your Player Rank, which means you’ll need to Party quite a bit to earn the three locked game boards. The final new board requires 30 achievements across the game, so better get to partying if you want it!

Four Boards Are Unlocked By Default

The first time you take off in the hot air balloon from Party Plaza in Super Mario Party Jamboree, you’ll have four boards unlocked at the beginning. These are all new to this entry in the series and each feature an item unique to that board and its mechanics.

At the start of Super Mario Party Jamboree, the game boards you’ll have access to are:

  • Goomba Lagoon, a chain of islands subject to the rising tide every few turns that features an active volcano, capable of spewing everything from gold-giving Goombas to lava puddles that steal your coins each time it erupts.
  • Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party, an adorable forest picnic with a sleeping Wiggler at the very center who wakes up and moves periodically, allowing or restricting access to shortcuts around the board.
  • Rainbow Galleria, a colorful three-story shopping mall with a variety of shops, each peddling unique wares, and flash sales every five turns to half the price of every item on the board – stars included.
  • Roll ‘Em Raceway, a racetrack that puts you and your competitors into colorful go-karts as you drive in laps around the board, choosing between a pit-stop that gives a full inventory of items or a stacking number of free coins for finishing laps.

These are the four boards unlocked in Super Mario Party Jamboree when you first begin, but you’ll need to play a few games on these boards to work through the achievements list to start unlocking the other three game maps.

Raise Your Player Rank To Unlock Three Additional Game Boards

Once you’ve had your fill of the four default maps in Super Mario Party Jamboree, you’ll find all new kinds of gimmicks on the three extra boards that unlock with your Player Rank. You’ll see hints at them around the Mario Party area where you choose your game board, but you’ll need to unlock them before being able to choose them.

As you complete achievements, your Player Rank increases based on how many you’ve finished so far. This is how you’ll unlock access to all kinds of new things in the Party Plaza’s assorted shops like reactions, player card items, and more.

Among these achievement-based unlocks are the three remaining game boards in Super Mario Party Jamboree.

You'll see the three extra boards under construction when you click into the Mario Party game mode from the Hot Air Balloon, but construction doesn't finish until you've hit the required Player Level by hitting those achievements. The three locked boards are:

  • Western Land, a returning map from Mario Party 2 that unlocks at Silver Rank in the achievement progression, which is at level 10.
    • A train called Steamer runs throughout the entire board, and you'll get knocked back to start if you're on the tracks when another player rides the train to another stop!
  • Mario’s Rainbow Castle also returns, this time from the original Mario Party, unlocking at Gold Rank when you hit level 20.
    • Impostor Bowser switches places with Toad every time a star is purchased, selling Ztars for the same cost as stars but not counting toward your total. Can you reach the top of the castle before Toad switches out?
  • King Bowser’s Keep is a new map, but it’s the last one to unlock. You’ll gain access at Platinum Rank once you’ve hit level 30, or after you've finished the Party Planner Trek, whichever happens first.
    • Impostor Bowser is at it yet again, turning random spaces into new Bowser Spaces or covering them with coin-siphoning lava.

Once you’ve unlocked these new Super Mario Party Jamboree boards, they’re yours to keep. The next time you go back out to the Hot Air Balloon and choose the regular Mario Party mode, Toad will remark about a new map being built and will show you which of the three unlockable Super Mario Party Jamboree boards you've got to play with next!
