There is a secret dungeon within Sun Haven that carries a few rewards for players who dare venture forth. In the Western Forest, exiting left from your Sun Haven farm, you may bump into a few enemies. There is a path here that leads to a secret dungeon.

RELATED: Sun Haven: Complete Guide

The Sun Haven Combat Dungeon allows players to hone their skills and prepare for any bosses or foes they may face in the future. You get to grind toward your Combat Skill and earn permanent buffs in the process.

We're still working towards getting some of the rewards in the dungeon, so we'll update this guide once we have more information.

How To Unlock The Combat Dungeon

In the Western Forest, you will stumble upon an area with a bridge and a path leading north and a path leading further west. Head north past the Leafies and Centipillars. Continue following the empty path up and then to the right. You will eventually stumble upon a giant slime boss.

To unlock the Combat Dungeon, you must first defeat King Slimius VXXII.

If you are still a beginner with your farm, you probably won't be able to take him.

In fact, you have probably died to him and then forgot about him for a while until now.

You should have high armor and good weapons before taking on King Slimius. The battlefield is quite small, and he launches a bunch of ammunition that follows you where ever you turn. You should have at least 34 Defense and weapons that require Level 20-30 Combat Skill.

Attacks

  • Series of bubbles that follow
  • Slime buddies that chase you and leave slime behind upon death, slowing you

You do not need to be end-game strong or anything, just stronger than when you started. Friends that join you through multiplayer or NPCs cannot help you with this boss fight. Once you defeat the King Slime, the man inside will be released.

Ryder will go into the Combat Dungeon upon release, and he is who you must talk to in order to start your new adventure. Speak to Ryder to be allowed entry into the Dungeon floors.

Dungeon Challenges

There is nothing on each floor but enemies. No ore or loot. The Combat Dungeon is purely for upgrading your Combat Skill.

You can only enter the Dungeon once a day.

If you die or choose to exit a floor, you cannot return until the next day.

Each floor is the same size, which is quite small. You should definitely have your double-jump upgraded in the Exploration Skill, so that you may dodge any attacks or get out of tight spots. Because the floors are small, you can easily get trapped in a corner which is an instant death.

You can grind each floor until you die or simply turn around and exit the dungeon whenever you feel like it. If you end up dying, you will not go to the hospital but instead will just leave the dungeon with less health.

Upon exiting a floor, you will be rewarded with money every time. If you reached a milestone floor, you will be rewarded with a Chest Key as well. You should be able to fight your way through up until floor Level 15.

Past Level 15, you will need to make sure you are strong and prepared.

Bring lots of potions or food that give you at least 30+ Health and 30+ Mana.

You should be able to progress with your chosen weapon, but it is important to have both a sword and crossbow at the ready. There will be enemies on higher ground that will not come to you during some levels. Vice versa, there will be hordes of enemies cornering you where a sword would be useful.

Dungeon Rewards

The Combat Dungeon is a great way to grind money short-term. Every enemy you slay will drop a fair amount of coins. When you exit the floor you will be rewarded with coins, and when you unlock a chest you will get even more coins.

In each chest, you will get some coins and some sort of medallion. These medallions or items will give you a permanent stat boost upon retrieval. This means as soon as you loot it, you will get +4 Defense permanently. Because of this, you can throw out the item away after if you desire.

Unlocking each chest prepares you for the next set of floors in the Dungeon as well as any enemies you may face outside in the Withergate outskirts or Sun Haven wilderness. You should actively work towards getting stronger in order to complete each floor, but these chest rewards help you out a little bit.
