Kevin Conroy passed away in 2022, and it has long been assumed that his reprising of Arkham Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was his final role. However, it has now come to light that he will posthumously star in a new show and movie.

As reported by IGN, Conroy voiced a character in the upcoming animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, though it's unclear if he plays the titular Dark Knight. But he did reprise his role as The Animated Series' Bruce Wayne one last time in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part Three.

There are also rumours that he recorded new voice lines for MultiVersus' re-release.

The first part of this animated trilogy launched earlier this month, but we have yet to find out when Parts 2 and 3 will be released. It's worth noting, however, that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still his final performance as Arkham Batman, specifically.

Batman: Caped Crusader was originally cancelled by Warner Bros. Discovery, but Prime Video picked it up for two seasons. The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm is helming the show, working alongside Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J. J. Abrams and The Batman director Matt Reeves.

It will use "state-of-the-art animation techniques [to] reinvent the characters and [Batman's] rogue's gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world."

It's a spiritual successor to the original '90s Animated Series, so Conroy could well be reprising the role of Batman to continue that legacy, but no casting has been officially announced.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn't Kevin Conroy's final performance, it's still a "tribute", according to director Axel Rydby.

"It was very emotional for all of us in the entire studio, it was so sad when he passed," Rydby said. "I think it's hard to overstate how important he's been to Batman as a character and the depiction of Batman.

We were all really sad when it happened and we wanted it to be as much of a tribute as we could make it in the game [...] We know that Mr. Conroy really enjoyed his performance in the game and that was important to us that it felt like he liked what we were doing with the character as well.."
