Being the hero and helping civilians with tasks too great for them is common for adventurers, even in space. There are many NPCs in Starfield that provide you with miscellaneous missions, and some have great benefits that can help you in your adventure.

Mars is a down-on-its-luck planet, with citizens that scrape by looking for work. You can help them get ahead or leave them to fend for themselves, but there are often better benefits to being kind. Whether you do it for the morality boost or the Credits, it's worth talking to the people of Cydonia.

How To Start Start-Up Stopped

Speak with Jane on Mars in Cydonia's Residential District to learn that she bought a ship to bring her supplies, but it's gone missing. She runs a small business and needs your help.

Jane doesn't have the money to replace the ship, and she'd like the ship and the captain back. The last known location isin the Sol system, somewhere near Triton.

Where To Find The Berry Mule

Don't worry if you accidentally (or otherwise) open fire on the ship. They won't be hostile, and you won't damage the ship.

When you arrive, you'll spot the Berry Mule floating in space. Hail the ship to investigate. A gruff voice demands you state your business.

If you ask to speak to Erick, you learn he's indisposed. Captain Gustavo Valencia is in charge and the ship is under Ecliptic control. Ask to resolve the matter peacefully, and you'll be invited to come aboard.

You can board and hail the ship by locking on and interacting with it.

When you board the ship, you'll speak with Captain Gustavo Valencia. He asks what you're doing here. You can negotiate or open fire immediately.

Negotiations will reveal that the Ecliptic Mercenaries are here to return the ship to its rightful owner. You can tell them to keep the ship but bring the pilot back, or you can persuade them to tell their employer the ship was destroyed.

It's a six-stage persuasion attempt, so you'll want to be careful with your choices.

If you attack, there are six Ecliptic Mercenaries inside. It won't be a tough fight, but you'll want to find cover as soon as you can. After the Mercenaries are defeated, you can free Erick.

Erick is marked as essential, so don't worry if he gets hit in the crossfire.

Return To Jane

Regardless of what happens on the ship, return to Jane with the results. You can tell her the truth or leave out the details.

She'll offer you a reward with what she has, and you'll also get a discount at her shop. She's a small business, but every vendor is a valuable resource in Starfield.
