PostsIn this guide, we are going to take a look at what the Truffle Crab is; this will include how it can appear, how to defeat it, and what it will drop upon defeat. Overall, the crab is relatively weak, but if you aren't paying attention, it can catch you off guard and do some real damage.
Where Do Truffle Crabs Spawn?
Truffle Crabs will only appear if you already have a pig on your farm. When the Pig in question digs up a Truffle, there is a 0.2 percent chance that this will be a Truffle Crab (instead of the normal item).
At first glance, the crab will look just like a truffle, but once you are nearby, little green legs will appear and they will move around. These crabs are virtually the same as crabs that you can find in the Mines.
Since pigs only gather truffles outside, you will not find any Truffle Crabs during the Winter. Pigs remain in the barn all season.
How To Defeat A Truffle Crab
When stationary, Truffle Crabs won't take damage. As you approach within one tile though, the crab will begin to move, making them vulnerable. To attack, you simply need to get close enough (causing their legs to pop out) and then swing any melee weapon.
What Do Truffle Crabs Drop?
Truffle Crabs will drop the following materials when defeated.

Percent Chance To Drop
Truffle
99.9%
Second Truffle
50%
Third Truffle
10%

Prismatic Shard (if bottom of Mines are reached)

The second and third truffles are not guaranteed to drop, but you have a good chance of at least getting two.
