There are a million things to get done in Stardew Valley, from fishing and farming to collecting Golden Walnuts in an active volcano. That’s not to mention diving down the infinitely deep caverns full of valuable loot. To call yourself ‘busy’ would be an understatement.

PostsThere will be times when you just don’t have enough time to stop what you’re doing and go home. Fortunately, the 1.6 content update has introduced a solution: the Tent Kit. Here’s where to find them, how to make them, and what limitations they’re under.
How To Unlock The Tent Kit Recipe
You unlock the recipe to craft Tent Kits when you reach level eight in the Foraging skill. Crafting them requires Hardwood, Fiber, and Cloth.

Fiber can be found day one, and Hardwood can be collected fairly easily if you have a Steel Axe (which you likely will by the time you reach level eight in Foraging).
Cloth will be the hardest to get a hold of. It can be reliably farmed from sheep, but if you don't have the deluxe barn, your best bet would be to defeat Mummies in the Skull Caverns.
Where To Get Free Tent Kits
CloseIf you can't craft them just yet and you still want to try them, a set of three Tent Kits can be found in a box in the eastern jungle of Ginger Island. They might be hard to spot in the darkness. The box is up and to the palm tree's right in the area's lower right corner.
These can be discovered as soon as you land on Ginger Island, making them a helpful option for staying on the island until you unlock the Island house.
How To Use A Tent Kit
CloseWhile holding the Tent Kit item, you can place it down anywhere outside. This requires a three-wide by two-tall space. Once placed, interact with the small yellow tent to go to bed for the night.
Once asleep, the game will go through the usual nighttime routine, saving the game and waking you up the following morning with full energy. The tent will be destroyed when you wake up, preventing repeated usage.
You can only use the Tent Kit while outside. This means it cannot be used to stay on a certain floor of the Skull Caverns between days.
You can, however, pitch a tent in the desert itself, allowing you to start on a Skull Cavern run as soon as you wake up.
