Sell Animals From Their Invididual Menus

When you need to sell off one of your animals in Stardew Valley, you'll need to first make your way over to the barn or the coop that houses the animal you're trying to sell. If the animals have already been let outside for the day, you'll need to locate the animal wherever it is on your farm.

By default, you'll pet the animal first, a touching little farewell to your farmyard friend. After that, interact with the animal a second time, which will then bring up that animal's individual menu. Here, you can see the number of hearts you currently have with that specific animal, their name, age, and general mood for the day.

On the right side of this square that pops up with the information, you'll notice a few buttons outside the text box itself. One of them is a yellow circle, and hovering over that button offers you the option to sell this particular animal.

If you're really sure you'd like to get rid of this animal in Stardew Valley, confirm the decision to sell it. The bright side of losing one of your animals is that you'll earn some gold from the sale, which is dependent upon how happy the animal is. Selling an animal allows you a new space in that barn or coop to fill with another animal (or leave vacant if you're hoping to breed a new one).
