Apart from farming, another activity that you can do in Stardew Valley is exploring the mines and the different dungeons. Monsters roam these areas, but valuable ores, treasure, and items can also be found here. As you go deeper into the mines and as the monsters get more dangerous, you'll need to find ways to get stronger.

PostsOne way to improve your chances at surviving the dungeons is by putting on various types of equipment. There are plenty of boots, rings, and weapons that you can use, but one late-game type of gear is trinkets. One trinket you can equip is the Frog Egg.
How To Get A Frog Egg
A Frog Egg is a type of trinket that is useful in combat when equipped. In order to start getting trinkets, you first need to unlock Combat Mastery.
How To Unlock Combat Mastery
Combat Mastery is one of the skill pillars that can be unlocked in the Mastery Cave, which can be found in the southeast corner of Cindersap Forest. You'll be able to open the door to this cave after reaching level ten in all skills.
Once the Mastery Cave is accessible, you'll be able to start earning mastery points. All experience points gained from that point count as mastery points, regardless of the skill used.
You'll need to unlock one of five levels of total mastery points in order to pick a skill pillar to learn. Combat Mastery is what you'll need in order to start finding trinkets.
How To Find A Frog Egg
Frog Egg trinkets are a possible drop by monsters. When dropped by monsters, Frog Eggs can be of a selection of different colors:
Possible Frog Egg Colors
Green, Brown, Blue-Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, Void, Prismatic
The color of the frog is determined by the color of its egg, and the color does not affect its abilities.
How To Use A Frog Egg
To use a Frog Egg, you simply need to equip it in your trinket slot. Once you have it equipped, you'll have a frog companion following you around.
Your frog doesn't have any health, and it will not take any damage from enemies or explosions. It will remain as an active companion as long as the Frog Egg is in your trinket slot.
Your frog will use its tongue to grab and eat an enemy nearby. After it eats an enemy, it will become full and will not be able to consume another enemy until it digests the one in its stomach.
It takes 12 seconds for a frog to fully consume an enemy, and then it will be able to eat another.
An enemy eaten by your frog will not drop any items, nor do they count as your kills. That being said, you should switch this trinket out for another if you're completing kill quests or Monster Eradication Goals.
You can change your Frog Egg's color by placing it on an Anvil. You'll also need to have three pieces of Iridium Bars in order to use the Anvil.
Other Uses For A Frog Egg
You can also give a Frog Egg as a gift to the different villagers. This is a loved gift for Sebastian, and a liked gift for Vincent and the wizard. Alex has neutral feelings towards this, and the rest of the villagers dislike it.
Another use for a Frog Egg is decoration in your Fish Tank. You can toss in your Frog Egg, and the frog of that color will hatch inside the tank.
