Combat is one of the skills you can hone in Stardew Valley. To gain experience in this skill, you'll need to defeat monsters found in the various mines and dungeons. As you explore deeper in the mines and as more dungeons are unlocked, the enemies you'll encounter will become more powerful.

Losing all your health to enemies will come at a hefty price. You'll need to pay a fee for your recovery, and you'll lose some of your items. You can improve your chances of surviving by equipping various types of gear, such as a trinket. One of the trinkets you can equip is the Basilisk Paw.

How To Get A Basilisk Paw

A Basilisk Paw is a type of trinket that you can find once you unlock Combat Mastery.

Combat Mastery can be unlocked in the Mastery Cave, which is through a door in the southeast corner of Cindersap Forest.

You'll need to reach level ten in all five skills, and you'll need to earn mastery points in order to unlock Combat Mastery.

Once you have the mastery, a Basilisk Paw can appear as loot or a drop when you defeat monsters, or destroy crates and barrels in the Mines, Quarry Mine or Skull Cavern. There's also a very rare chance for it to appear in a Skull Cavern treasure chest.

Luck also plays a big role when it comes to finding trinkets. The best time to go looking for trinkets like these is during a day when your daily luck is good. You can beef up your luck stat as well using gear or by consuming luck-granting dishes.

How To Use A Basilisk Paw

You can equip the Basilisk Paw in your trinket slot. This can be found next to your headgear slot in your inventory menu.

Only one trinket can be equipped at a time.

You will be immune to debuffs from any enemy attacks as long as you have the Basilisk Paw equipped. This means that you will be immune to:

Debuff

Take note that wearing the Basilisk Paw does not make you immune to Tipsy, which reduces your speed by one, because it is obtained from drinking alcohol. Only debuffs from enemy attacks are affected by this trinket.

Unlike the other trinkets, you cannot use your Basilisk Paw on an anvil to change any aspects of its ability.
