Stardew Valley: How To Get The Summit Cheat Cutscene

Anyone who's reached perfection in Stardew Valley will tell you how long it takes. Since perfection is achieved by completing every single thing in the game - including some pretty tedious and expensive end-game tasks - it's no wonder players might want to skip ahead and see the cute cutscene with Lewis at the Summit.

Posts 1You can normally only trigger the Summit cutscene in Stardew Valley by achieving perfection, but carefully using your scythe can break your farmer out of bounds and allow you to get up to the Summit early. It just won't be Lewis waiting for you there...
It's helpful to do this while not wearing a hat, since you'll need to use the very top of your farmer's hair as a guide for this. Also, if you're able, use audio to help guide yourself here - your footsteps in the grass are a big help in figuring out where your sprite is off-screen.
Glitch Out Of Bounds To Trigger The Summit Cutscene Before Reaching Perfection
Every new patch for Stardew Valley comes with a plethora of new content, and some of that content includes things we maybe weren't supposed to do, but this time, ConcernedApe added a new cutscene. Normally, when you glitch your farmer out of bounds on the map, you'll either wander aimlessly through untamed grassy areas for a while, or maybe even find a few of the game's well-hidden secret paths.
But if you're trying to see the cutscene at the Summit of the mountain, the one that takes place with your farmer and Mayor Lewis after you've reached perfection, typically, you'd think you'd be in luck here. As of the 1.6 update in March 2024, we're able to use the Scythe in specific places in the mountains to get there a little early, but the cutscene is now a bit different.
First, empty your pockets of anything valuable - you'll end the cutscene at the hospital, so expect to lose some gold and items, if you have items on hand. In testing this, we lost an Iridium Sprinkler, of all things.
How To Perform The Summit Glitch
If you've already unlocked the train track area of the mountains, you can skip the part that allows you to bypass the blocked entrance. However, we'd still recommend reading through this section of the guide, as it helps you get a better handle on the exact kind of thing you'll need to do in the train track area ahead - the glitch involves going out of bounds, but if you've already unblocked the path to the train tracks, you don't need to go out of bounds to get there.
To perform the glitch, get ready to do a whole lot of scythe swinging. You'll begin by going to the mountains and venturing as close to the path to Pelican Town as you can stand before triggering the change of screens to bring you into town as normal. There are a lot of slow and careful movements ahead, so get ready!
Once you've gotten yourself as close to this edge of the map as you can, begin swinging your scythe as much as you can, spamming the button to do it repeatedly several times over. When you use the scythe, your farmer moves forward a very, very tiny bit, but it's enough to inch toward the bottom of the screen without triggering the map change.
When you can just barely see a pixel or two of your farmer's hair, you're likely in the right place. From here, walk left until you can't anymore, and then walk upwards. If done correctly, you'll see as the screen moves up past Robin's house and toward the entrance to the train tracks. Your farmer is in the top left corner of the screen, so carefully navigate into the closed entrance to the train tracks.
Here, we'll be doing much the same thing to get ourselves out of bounds. Stand as close to the entrance back to the mountains as you can without triggering the map change back down the way you came. When you can see just as much hair as before, walk to the right. The screen moves with you, as if you were on the regular map.
Once you've walked all the way to the right, you'll now need to walk straight up toward the top of the screen. The screen moves up past the boundary of the area with you if done correctly, toward the path to the summit.
You'll still be on the far right side, unable to see much of your character. Walk as far to the top as possible before they stop walking, then walk left into the loading area for the Summit cutscene in Stardew Valley, and prepare for one of the spookier moments in the game!
