In this guide, we are going to take a look at where you can find moss in Stardew Valley, as well as what you can do with it. Moss is not locked behind any event or date; you will be able to find it in the valley right at the start of the game.

Where To Find Moss

Close

Moss naturally grows on trees, giving the bark a greenish appearance. To collect this moss, you just need to use a tool, such as your axe. With this in hand, one swing will knock the moss right off the tree, which means that you don't have to cut it down completely.

This material can regrow on trees over time; be sure to check back in dense tree-filled areas, as you might find more moss growing.

Moss And Green Rain

Close

Green Rain is a unique weather event where the rain turns... green. When this happens, you will also notice a mass amount of new trees and weeds on the ground. During this weather event, you will also see special trees with long, curly tendrils.

Moss is prevalent during Green Rain, making this an excellent time to farm this resource. Cut down weeds to obtain moss, and be sure to look out for moss growing on trees, as this is extremely common during this event.

After the Green Rain ends, the new trees and weeds will disappear the next day. If you want to farm moss, you will have to do it during the actual rain event!
