Like Marvel, upcoming Star Wars games have been entrusted to multiple studios. One of those games is Star Wars Outlaws which is being published by Ubisoft. Set between the events of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, players will assume the role of a brand new character in the Star Wars universe, Kay Vess. A bounty on her head, Vess must venture to the dangerous Outer Rim, an area in a galaxy far, far away we still know very little about, on a heist that will hopefully change her life for the better.

Ubisoft's promise that Outlaws will be here in 2024 seemed ambitious. However, the upcoming Star Wars game now has a firm release date, and that release date is just a few days away. Following in the footsteps of Black Myth: Wukong which got the video game release schedule back on track after a quiet summer, Outlaws launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 30, 2024. The Standard Edition costs $70 and if you order it before Outlaws' release day, you'll get a pre-order bonus. The Kessel Runner Bonus Pack. The pack includes cosmetic packs for your speeder and the Trailblazer spaceship you'll be using to explore the Outer Rim. The Standard Edition, and the two more expensive editions for that matter, is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Star Wars Outlaws is not coming to Steam or the Epic Games Store. You will need to buy and download it through Ubisoft Connect if you want to play the game on PC. There also won't be last-gen or Nintendo Switch versions of the game.

If you've got more confidence in Ubisoft's first crack at a Star Wars game, then you might want to grab the Gold Edition. Price-wise, the step up is a significant one. At $109.99, the Gold Edition's pre-order will cost you $40 more than the standard version of the game. Most of that money seems to be tied up in the Season Pass. It's unclear how much the Season Pass will cost separately, but we do know it will include two post-launch DLCs building on Outlaws' story, an exclusive Jabba's gambit mission, and more cosmetic options for Kay and Nix, her adorable alien companion.

Throw an additional $20 into the Outlaws pot and pay $129.99, and you can get Ultimate Edition. The most expensive pre-order you can place comes with everything already mentioned with the added bonus of a couple more bundles. The Rogue Infiltrator and Sabacc Shark bundles both come with additional cosmetic items for Kay, Nix, your speeder, and the Trailblazer ship. Pre-ordering the pricier versions means you will be able to begin your Outlaws journey three days before those with the standard version.
