Star Wars Bounty Hunter Is Getting Remastered, Includes Boba Fett Skin

Summary
- Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is getting a remaster that improves the visuals with dynamic lighting and updated textures.
- The remaster also adds a Boba Fett skin that was seemingly planned for the original game before being cut.
- This version of the game is different from the port that was released a few years ago, although it's fair to be a bit confused about that. I certainly was.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is the next game in the series to be getting the remaster treatment, and it's releasing for most consoles in just over a month on August 1.
The past few years have given us a ton of new Star Wars games to be excited about, from the soulslike Jedi series to the upcoming open-world adventure, Star Wars Outlaws. While there's no shortage of new content set in a galaxy far, far away, we've also been seeing tons of older games get remastered over the last few years.

Star Wars is all about mentorship, and Outlaws seems to understand that.
PostsAlthough the remastered Star Wars games have admittedly been a bit of a rollercoaster when it comes to their quality (Star Wars Battlefront Collection, I'm looking at you), it seems that they're not slowing down any time soon. Aspyr, who has remastered most of the old Star Wars games, has just announced that 2002's Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is next on the re-release block.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Is Getting A Remaster In August
The remaster was announced by Aspyr with a new trailer that shows off the updated visuals and reveals that it's releasing on August 1 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC. More details about Bounty Hunter's remaster were shared over on the PlayStation Blog, which confirms it's being improved in a number of ways.
Let's start off with the visual improvements, which include updated environment textures that "give more depth and texture to the environment" via bump maps and new light effects that include "dynamic lighting". Aspyr has also added a flashlight to the game for some of the darker sections that were difficult to navigate.
If you're a bit confused about Bounty Hunter getting re-released, that might be because a port of the game was already released a few years ago. This version is an updated remaster, but it stumped me for a minute too.
The PlayStation Blog also detailed a number of PS5-exclusive features that make use of the DualSense, such as integrated adaptive triggers, voice comms that are played through the controller's speaker, and the lightbar being linked to Jango Fett's health. No other gameplay changes are revealed in the blog, so it seems like it's going to be a more faithful remaster.
By far the most exciting thing about the Bounty Hunter remaster is that it turns an abandoned easter egg into a reality. In the original release of Bounty Hunter, a message could be found written in Aurebesh that said, "Cash in all bounties to play as Boba". That didn't end up happening if you beat the game 100 percent, but it's now been added in as a reward for clearing the campaign, which is a nice touch.

Xbox's current goals are unclear, given its less than stellar Starfield and Hellblade II. But whatever plans it has for this generation, it needs to reveal it fast.
