Unlocking lots of new classes and being able to create the party of your dreams is a superb aspect of Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven. There's quite a large number to choose from and they're all unlocked in different ways, with some having rather obscure recruitment methods.

One such class is the Amazon, found deep within the Salamat Jungle. These fierce warriors are often skilled with spears and usually have some other tricks up their sleeves, making them a very valuable boon for your Empire. Thankfully, recruiting them isn't as difficult as some others.

How To Recruit The Amazon Class

There are three very simple steps to recruiting the Amazon class:

• Find the Amazon Village, which is accessible through the Salamat jungle.
• Save the Amazon from monsters.
• Enter the village and talk to the Amazon there.

How To Reach The Amazon Village

The Amazon Village, as previously mentioned, is located via Salamat, the jungle on the eastern half of the continent. To reach Salamat, you'll have to travel eastwards over the continent once unlocked through the events in North Longit.

Specifically, you'll need to make your way through two very large areas and take exits to the east, in the Steppe and the Savannah.

Once you've reached Salamat, it's a simple journey to the south end of the map where you can make your way to the Amazon Village exit. From the southern edge of the map, you'll need to head east through a low hole in the wall and then take the south-eastern exit in the secluded area. This unlocks the Amazon Village for fast-travel on the world map.

Upon entering the Amazon Village and making your way forwards, you'll encounter the Amazon being attacked by some monsters.

You'll get the option to help Amazon or leave. Leaving will not fail this mini-quest; it just gives you time to prepare accordingly. Select the option to helpAmazon to continue.

How To Beat The Black Widows

The Black Widows are weak to Shortswords, Spears, Bows, and Hydrology, so taking along warriors who can inflict those types of damage will be very helpful. The enemies will be rather close to each other, so aiming skills that can target a whole line at the central Black Widow will also hit the ones on the side - keep this in mind for a quick fight.

With a little bit of preparation, this fight is incredibly easy. We recommend the following:

• Filling up your Overdrive gauge before the fight begins.
• Taking along at least one spellcaster with Water Blast II.
• Taking warriors with skills that can hit multiple enemies for their weak spots:
  • Shortsword users with Plasma Thrust.
  • Spear users with Sharp Thrust.
  • Bow users with Rapid Volley or Rain of Arrows.
• On harder difficulties, you'll also want some healers with the ability to heal Poison, as that's likely to be a significant issue in this fight.

The Black Widows may drop a Moonbeam Robe upon their defeat - this is a really nice bit of mage equipment that can serve as a substantial boost for a spellcaster, depending on how far along the normal equipment chains you are when you get it.

Once you've come out victorious, the Amazon's reaction will differ based on the gender of your Emperor:

• If you have a male Emperor, the Amazon will run to the village. You will not be allowed to enter.
• If you have a female Emperor, the Amazon will be thankful and you'll have access to the village.

The rest of your party doesn't matter when it comes to this - only your Emperor's gender matters.

How To Enter The Amazon Village

Entering the Amazon Village to talk to the Amazon and gain the class is as simple as having a female Emperor. With a female Emperor, you can enter the village without incident and speak to the Amazon, who will join you.

The path to the Amazon Village has two things to note:

• Stone boats, which are used to cross the lava flow on Comroon Island.
• A hole in the floor that must be jumped over. Falling in allows you to reach the centre of Salamt jungle and nab some ore for the Pride of the Fabri Family quest.

It does not matter if you have a male Emperor when you save her and then have to Abdicate or wait until a generation skip to get a female Emperor - she will still recognise you as her saviour and join your retinue upon speaking to her.
