PostsIn Volleyball Legends, each player can have a special ability pertaining to certain Haikyuu characters. There are nine abilities that you can "roll" for when playing the game. Some abilities are better for teams and some are better for individuals, which all comes down to player preference and playing style.
Tier List
This tier list is ranked based on how easy it is to counter each ability and how useful they are overall. After the tier list, each ability will be explained in detail with an explanation of its placement.
S Tier
Redirection Jump (Godly), Curve Spike (Rare)
A Tier
Boom Jump (Uncommon), Super Sprint (Common), Steel Block (Common)
B Tier
Rolling Thunder (Common), Zero Gravity Set (Uncommon)
C Tier
Team Spirit (Common), Moon Ball (Rare)
Common Abilities
There are four common abilities, marked by the color green: Team Spirit, Rolling Thunder, Super Sprint and Steel Block.
Team Spirit is C rank because it depends on your whole team paying attention to work effectively. Team spirit gives all players on the team a slightly faster movement speed when running or walking on the court.
If the team has no communication or is full of inattentive players, this ability will be useless. Since it doesn't provide any special moves for a player's hits, it is predictable and can be easily blocked.
Rolling Thunder is in B tier because it can easily fail. However, remember that when it works, it's a game-saver. Rolling Thunder allows you to perform a boosted dive, so if the ball is about to drop to a further part of the court, an individual with this ability will be able to quickly dive to save their team from being scored on.If the player misses the dive, then the ability is useless.
Super Sprint and Steel Block are A tier abilities because they are purely meant for the individual's skillset, but can carry a team to victory.
Super Sprint gives an individual player extra speed when moving, and can even allow them to save the game multiple times, if they are attentive. The other team can use their abilities, but if you're quick enough to save the ball, you could beMVP with this ability.
Steel Block is extremely important because it allows the individual to block almost any ball that comes close to the net and the other team will be unable to save themselves, unless they are extremely lucky.
Uncommon Abilities
There are two uncommon abilities, marked by the color blue: Zero Gravity Set and Boom Jump.
Zero Gravity Set is ranked as B tier because it depends on another player to be effective. This ability is great when you have a teammate who is good at spiking as it will allow you to set up the perfect spike. However, since the setter cannot spike their own ball in volleyball, the effectiveness depends on someone else to follow through.
When executed correctly, Zero Gravity Set is almost impossible to block.
Boom Jump is ranked as A tier because it depends on the individual player and can be extremely useful for highly shot balls. This ability allows you to jump much higher than other players, which gives you the opportunity to serve, set, bump and spike higher.
Rare Abilities
There are two rare abilities, marked by the color red: Moon Ball and Curve Spike.
Moon Ball is ranked as C tier because it can be easily countered. This ability allows the individual to bump the ball past enemy spikers, which can be unexpected, but also easily countered if all enemy teammates are paying attention.
Curve Spike is ranked as S tier because it allows the individual to curve their spiked ball, which can catch the enemy team off guard if done right and is hard to block.
The ball will be shot in the direction of your tilt, not necessarily where the enemy team might think the ball would drop.
Godly Abilities
There is onegodly ability, marked by the color gold. Redirection jump is the only godly ability and is ranked S tier for a reason.
Redirection jump allows the individual to change direction mid-air and fake out the whole enemy team.
While it is hard to master, once you figure out how to effectively use it, it will almost always score your team points and most definitely deserve MVP.
