Who knew that a fictional rural country in Spain could be so darn scary? Villagers are homicidal, and their heads sometimes just pop off entirely as monstrous tendrils take over. Weird cultists traverse the land with sinister plans afoot. Leon Kennedy has his work cut out for him in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Thankfully, there's more than just weaponry to bolster Leon's chances of survival. The now-seasoned operative can earn an assortment of charms that grant certain benefits. Just try your hand at the merchant's shooting range to see what you can claim for yourself. Just keep in mind that some charms are far better than the rest.

10 Ada Wong

Charms are classified between common, rare, epic, and legendary. The Ada Wong charm falls in the rare category. You'll find that some of the best charms lessen the monetary impact when dealing with the merchant and perusing his wares.

The Ada Wong charm offers you a healthy 30 percent discount on Body Armor repairs. With rampaging Ganados and cultists around every corner, body armor is a necessity.

9 Luis Sera

When you first meet Luis Sera, he's a rather odd character shrouded in a veil of mystique. But he seems to find the humor in his current predicament, strangely. This peculiar Resident Evil character is immortalized as a charm for your attaché case.

If you find yourself lucky enough to snag the Luis Sera charm, his sly mug will grant you an additional 20 percent return on the resale of your weapons to the merchant. There are more weapons in Resident Evil 4 than in most games in the series, you'll find the need to make room for something bigger and bolder. Why not make some extra dough while you're at it?

8 Leon W/ Handgun

Your knife is your friend. You better believe that it's going to get you through some rough patches. Villagers will get handsy, and you're going to need to go for the jugular. But inevitably, your knife will wear down and break entirely.

Repairing your knife is a must. If taking stealth strategies into account, you're going to want to go in for that quick and easy kill. The Leon w/ Handgun charm eases the stress on your wallet when paying for knife repairs by 30 percent. It's a complete wonder why the charm isn't Leon w/ Knife, instead.

7 Leon W/ Shotgun

It's a survival horror game. Ammo is the most highly valued resource in the entire game. Without it, Leon's a dead man walking. However, as we previously indicated, this game is rife with weaponry, and you'll inevitably have ammo for weapons that you're not even using at the moment.

That ammo carries plenty of value with the merchant. And you can gain even more in your sale of the ammunition with the Leon w/ Shotgun charm which grants a 40 percent increase in proceeds.

6 Chicken

For those of you hoarding eggs in your inventory, this is the charm to get. It will increase the health recovery rate by 100 percent for all egg types making each one of those a real treasure. They take up minimal space in your inventory and can be the key to your survival.

Just think, once you obtain the chicken charm you can build your egg inventory and sell the herbs. Inventory space is precious!

5 Black Bass

Eggs and herbs aren't the only natural healing remedies that you can come by out in the Spain countryside. BlackBbass populates just about every body of water you can find in your quest.

There are different sizes of Black Bass that restore health according to heft. But if you obtain the Black Bass charm, you can gain an extra 100 percent health recovery with each fish you devour. Leon could do worse. He could have to chow down on earthworms and insects.

4 Ashley Graham

Do you have a sizable supply of green herbs in storage? If so, you're going to want to maximize their potential to bring you back from the brink of death's door. Resident Evil 4 Remake is one game where your death will become commonplace.

If you happen to acquire the Ashley Graham charm, you've entered the "epic" category of charm collecting. This particular charm grants you an additional 50 percent health recovery with each use of the green herb. Increasing the intensity of your healing items could enable you to carry less of them and free up space for other fun things like a rocket launcher.

3 Merchant

Weapons aren't cheap and neither are the upgrades. But as you progress through the story, the enemies will only become more formidable and difficult. Even the ordinary villagers will begin transforming into parasitic monstrosities more often.

Your firepower will have to get stronger. If you have the charm behind one of the silliest and most meme-able characters in Resident Evil, weapon upgrades will come at a discount of five percent. That might not seem like much. But with weapons and upgrades being among the most expensive items in the Merchant's inventory, any discount will go a long way.

2 Cute Bear

When you think of Resident Evil, cute and cuddly bears don't exactly come to mind. The gore-soaked streets and buildings of each entry's locale are, perhaps, a better parallel. But, you can inject a tiny bit of sunshine into this dark and dreary narrative with the Cute Bear charm.

This charm enables you to only require one gunpowder item when crafting ammo. That could greatly increase the amount of ammo you can craft. And did we mention that the Cute Bear is one of two legendary charms?

1 Striker

The other legendary charm available in the game is the Striker charm. Sometimes, you might need to run for your life. Ammo might be running low, enemies are too numerous, or you simply need to give yourself more space. There are many reasons why you might need to quickly maneuver around bad guys.

The Striker charm helps you pick up the pace by eight percent. That's right. Your movement speed increases with this charm making you a less vulnerable target.
