You'll have to beat a bunch of bosses while you're trying to complete the main story of Remnant 2, and some of these bosses can be quite difficult. Gwendil is one of the difficult bosses, and you'll have to defeat her if you're on a certain storyline when you enter the Losomn area for the first time.

It might not be hard to deal damage to Gwendil, but her attack pattern and the environment of the battlefield can easily overwhelm you. It's important to learn every mechanic that comes into play during this fight if you want to win it.
Where To Find Gwendil The Unburnt
There are a total of three randomized areas in Remnant 2: Yaesha, Losomn, and N'Erud. You'll have to go through each one of these areas during a playthrough, but their order can be different. Moreover, all these areas have two entirely different storylines, and you can only get one of them in your Campaign.
If you enter the Losomn area and start in the Beatific Palace entrances, you'll eventually have to fight Gwendil. After going through a few main paths, you'll reach an area called Cotton's Kiln. This area introduces some new enemies alongside this boss at the end. Your firearms might become a disadvantage in this area.
How To Beat Gwendil The Unburnt
When you first enter the boss room, you'll see Gwendil on top of the buildings in the middle, and she'll instantly throw a grenade in your direction. Your character dodges the first grenade during the first cutscene and the fight begins after. The first thing you'll realize here is that there's no way to get on top of the building.
This renders most of your Melee weapons completely useless. Moreover, you'll also see some pools of oil on the ground. Whenever Gwendil throws a grenade on these pools or if you step on them while you're burning, they'll get lit up and the flames will stay on them for much longer than the other parts of the battlefield.
Another important thing to remember about this fight is that Gwendil constantly summons different enemies on the battlefield:
- The enemies that spawn on the ground are the new ones that you came across in this area for the first time. These enemies are covered with flammable substance, which lights their bodies up with fire as soon as you hit them with a bullet.
- She can also randomly summon enemies with sniper rifles on the building she's on. It's recommended to get rid of these enemies as fast as possible or they'll easily overwhelm you.
Even if you don't hit the flammable enemies with bullets, they'll automatically light themselves on fire after a while.
Apart from the summoned enemies, Gwendil also constantly hurls grenades in your direction. These projectiles deal heavy damage if they heal you directly, and then leave the burning effect on you for a few seconds. The floor where they land also burns for a few seconds. When Gwendil's health gets low enough, she'll start hurling multiple grenades at the same time.
You can either constantly run around the battlefield or dash at the correct moment to dodge these projectiles. Make sure you don't step on the oil if you get hit by them as this also increases the burning damage and time it stays on your character.
If you want to have an easier time in this battle, you can buy a burn-resistant potion from the doctor in Ward 13.
The easiest way to defeat Gwendil is by staying in the middle of the buildings she's on. This makes it easier to dodge her projectiles, and the lack of oil in the area makes the burning go away quicker. Although, don't be afraid to step out for a bit if you're getting attacked from multiple directions since this area is quite small.
Upon defeating Gwendil, you'll get a crafting material called Alkahest Powder and a new path will open. This will lead you back to the castle area, except you'll be on the Malefic side this time.
