One of the most iconic moments in the original Red Dead Redemption is John Marston's trip to Mexico, and exploring the small part of the country called Nuevo Paraíso that you're allowed to play around in is a nice breath of fresh air from the dusty trails and snowy hills of the rest of the game. Unfortunately, Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't take you to Mexico, but one fan is trying to fix that.

First reported by Rockstar Intel, a Red Dead Redemption 2 modder by the name of Mexico_Team has been working hard to completely rebuild the area of Nuevo Paraíso from the ground up and add it to the game. The aim of the mod is to completely remake everything from the original game, including building interiors, towns, peds, and a bunch more, and let you explore the area as Arthur Morgan.

If that sounds like something you're interested in, you can find the mod over at LibertyCity.net, though there are a couple of things you should know before you rush off to Mexico. For starters, Mexico_Team stresses that the mod is currently only in early access, meaning large portions of it may be incomplete, or you may run into some issues at some point.

Mexico_Team doesn't mention when the finished version of the map will be complete, but the fact that the early access was only uploaded last month suggests it'll be a while yet.

Secondly, you're going to need some modding knowledge if you want to get it to run properly. If you've never installed a mod before, chances are you're going to struggle here as Mexico_Team hasn't provided particularly clears instructions or steps on how to install the map. If you're a modding savant, you're good to go, but you may struggle if you're new to the modding scene.

In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, fans of Rockstar have been obsessed with the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer recently, and have even been recreating the trailer in other games developed by the publisher. One of these games was Red Dead Redemption 2, as a YouTuber called JackZ_Studios has managed to put together a ridiculously impressive and cinematic trailer splicing together story dialogue and story events so perfectly that you'll be double-checking to make sure it wasn't uploaded by Rockstar itself.
