You can interact with anyone while roaming around the open world in Red Dead Redemption 2. Yet, most people aren't very useful. They are just there for you to have a simple conversation with. But there are also others that do provide you with some sort of service.

The hardest of them to find are the trappers. This is because they don't usually set up their stalls in major towns. Most of them are situated in the wild. So, if you want their help, you must go searching around the large world. Alternatively, you can easily find their locations here.

What Does A Trapper Do?

As long as you have money and crafting materials, you can buy all sorts of things from a trapper, including saddles, clothing, equipment, and more.

They're most useful when it comes to legendary pelts, though.

When you kill and skin a legendary animal, you can take what's left of it to a trapper to sell and craft into a piece of clothing.

Here are the legendary animals they can make use of:

  • Legendary Bear
  • Legendary Buck
  • Legendary Fox
  • Legendary Beaver
  • Legendary Boar
  • Legendary Tatanka Bison
  • Legendary Cougar
  • Legendary Wolf
  • Legendary Coyote
  • Legendary Pronghorn
  • Legendary Alligator
  • Legendary Panther
  • Legendary Ram
  • Legendary Moose
  • Legendary White Bison
  • Legendary Elk

Riggs Station Trapper Location

There is a trapper set up just northeast of Riggs Station, near Bard's Crossing.

You just need to climb up a small hill to find him at the top.

Saint-Denis Trapper Location

Saint-Denis is one of the most famous locations in the game, as you spend much of chapter 4 there.

It's a big city with many things inside it, including a trapper. He is set up in a marketplace on the eastern side of the city.

Annesburg Trapper Location

There is a trapper just outside of Annesburg, which is a place that can be found on the northeast corner of the map.

The trapper is outside of the town to the southwest. He'sin between the Elysian Pool and Three Sisters Rock.

Big Valley Trapper Location

Big Valley is on the west side of the map. And while there isn't a trapper exactly in that area, there is one near it.

He is located a bit to the west of Big Valley, on top of a cliff.

Tall Trees Trapper Location

During the epilogue of the game, you visit the Tall Trees area. Here you can find another trapper.

He is situated on the edge of the area, next to the Lower Montana River.
