Rayman fans think that the limbless wonder might actually be an evil villain of sorts in Ubisoft's Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.

Ever since it was first revealed that Rayman was going to be a part of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, an animated series that melds a bunch of Ubisoft universes together, fans have been wondering what kind of role he would play. The first tease of his appearance in the series made it look like he was a TV personality of some kind, but more evidence has popped up that he might actually be one of the show's villains.

Just a few days ago, Netflix held a showcase for its upcoming animated shows, including Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry, Sonic Prime, and Captain Laserhawk, which got its first official trailer. That trailer also gives us our first look at Rayman, who is revealed to be a TV anchor and angrily reports on the main characters of the show, calling them "terrorists" and alerting the city that they're on the run.

It was already a little strange to see an angry-looking Rayman use the word "terrorist" like that, but even more evidence has come out since that makes the limbless wonder look a little less wonderful. Ubisoft released the official poster for the show and Rayman makes another appearance here, this time overlooking the heroes on a big TV screen and looking even more evil than he did in the trailer. The positioning of Rayman looking down on the rest of the cast certainly makes him look like he's out to get them.

Then, to make things even more suspicious, Netflix released more screenshots from the series that appear to show Rayman about to torture one of the main characters (the Assassin's Creed frog creature) live on TV during an event called "Retribution Day", all with a jolly smile and a ton of showmanship. Combine that with the team working on the show wearing t-shirts that say "In Rayman We Trust" like he's some kind of power-hungry celebrity, and it's looking like Rayman isn't the hero that we know him as this time around.

Following the release of the first trailer, Ubisoft also shared another look at the series titled, "Rayman and Assassin’s Creed Get a Blood Dragon Remix". In the trailer, one of the animators on the show says, "You might see Rayman in an unexpected way", while later describing him as a refuge from Dimension X. It's clear that he's going to be very different from we've ever seen him before and, considering we've always seen him as a loveable hero, the stage is set for him to be a villain for the first time.
