The Rarest Achievement For Each Of Steam's Most Played Games Of All Time

Steam is a treasure trove of games, with thousands of achievements you can rack up. Some games stand out, and capture the attention of so many players that they turn into massive beasts. Even with more players taking them on, they still have some of the least-beaten achievements — ones that only a few have been able to slay.

If you’re a massive achievement hunter, then set your sights on the rarest achievements for Steam’s most-played titles of all time based on GitHyp tracking data. Do note that these time-standing giants are different from the games with most concurrent players right now, as that’s another monster for another time. As titles like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and DOTA 2 don't have Steam achievements, they're not included.
Updated June 19, 2023 By Ben Jessey: Back in 2022, we created this list of the rarest achievements in the most popular games on Steam. It showed that even in games that have extremely high player bases, there are achievements that only a few people pick up.
This is typically because they're either very difficult or awkward to achieve. In this update, we've added a few more popular games to see what their rarest achievements are.
13 Terraria - And Good Riddance!
In the sandbox game Terraria, there are several different biomes. There are the standard ones like forest, snow, and desert, but they're also some evil ones. For example, there are corruption and crimson biomes.
Removing them and the Hallow biome gets you the And Good Riddance! achievement. The reason so few people have done it is that removing an entire biome from your world takes significant time and effort. It's not likely that you're going to do it organically.
12 Garry’s Mod - Mega Upload
Garry’s Mod has seen over 1.6 billion plays over its lifetime, because of course it has. You can wreak a lot of havoc in this timeless sandbox experience, especially because it still has an extremely active modding community.
To get the Mega Upload achievement, you just need to upload something in the Steam workshop and get 1,000 likes or thumbs-ups. Getting this will also net you the 1000 Thumbs achievement, so it’s a two-in-one deal if you can garner the praise and attention.
11 Destiny 2 - Seal The Deal
In Destiny 2, you are rewarded with a seal and title when you accomplish enough triumphs. What actions you need to take depends on the actual seal you’re aiming for, and this can cover anything from defeating various tiered enemies to acquiring certain items.
Only 3.9 percent of players have been able to get this achievement, which requires you to get one of the original triumph seals introduced in Forsaken. The easiest one to get is Dredgen, but you can also try for Rivensbane, Chronicler, Unbroken, Wayfarer, and Cursebreaker.
10 Rocket League - Spectacular
Rocket League is essentionally football (aka soccer) with cars. And there are a bunch of vehicle types in the game, including Merc and Grog. For this achievement, you need to use either of these vehicles and score ten goals against pro-level bots.
It isn't the hardest achievement in the world. However, less than four percent of players have managed to get it on Steam. This is probably because it isn't something that many get without specifically going for it.
9 Lost Ark - Competitive Match: Grand Master
Lost Ark is an MMO RPG that includes PVP modes. In those modes, there are different ranks for you to obtain, starting from bronze. The highest is Grand Master, which you need to reach to get this achievement.
It isn't surprising that not many people manage it, as not only do you need to be very good at the game to get it, but you must play often. Therefore, it's not an achievement casual fans are ever likely to achieve.
8 Warframe - K-Driven
Warframe is a huge game that throws you into interplanetary battles in a bio-metal suit, that you can pretty flexibly gear up and tweak to match your playstyle. Almost a decade down the line, it still gets huge updates and events.

Less than one percent of players have been able to get K-Driven, likely due to the fact that Archwings are usually the preference for most players. If you’re willing to take on the challenge, all you need to do is ride a million meters with a K-Drive hoverboard.
7 ARK: Survival Evolved - Master Zoologist
You’d think that making an island full of dinos and throwing in survival crafting mechanics wouldn’t work as well as it did, and yet life finds a way. The rarest achievement in this gem of a game is Master Zoologist, which only 3.1 percent of players have gotten.
To get this achievement in ARK: Survival Evolved, you need to tame all domesticable creatures on the ark. More than a hundred creatures fit this category, so stock up on those prime meats, berries, and tranquilizer darts.
6 Rust - Death From Above
The developers are very clear with the premise of Rust. You need to survive while literally everything and everyone is trying to erase you from existence. It has sold millions of copies since its release, so it looks like everyone is down for the punishment.

Its rarest achievement requires you to kill another player with the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). The bulky system can deal a lot of damage, but also makes you a huge target, so make sure you pin precisely to make it worth your while.
5 Apex Legends - Apex Legend
This Apex Legends achievement is a bit more manageable to achieve, and has a comparatively higher completion rate than others that share the “rarest achievement” spot. Still, less than a fourth of players has gotten the Apex Legend achievement in their pile because it still poses its own challenge.
Keep grinding so you can unlock eight Legends in your roster, and then keep playing until you have at least one win as each Legend. Once you have a win with eight different Legends, you’ll get the achievement.
4 Team Fortress 2 - Jackpot!
Team Fortress 2 is one of those games that will seemingly never die. It’s nearing twenty years old, and yet continues to see an active concurrent player base and updates from Valve. Among its whopping 520 achievements, the rarest one you can unlock is, naturally, the Jackpot.
To get this achievement, you need to win ten rounds of the PASS Time game mode. To be fair, this is one of the least popular game modes, and as a result you’ll likely be waiting for a long time in the queue. The difficulty with getting this is more about finding a match than even winning one.
