When you first start playing Rusty Rabbit and enter the platforming dungeon, you'll get to use various abilities on Junkster that will make your movement much easier. However, you'll lose these abilities after a small accident right before you enter the main plot of the story.

If you want to get these abilities back, you'll have to progress to certain parts of the map and take help from the BB group. You can also get various additional weapon abilities in the process that can make your job a lot easier.

How To Unlock Roller Dash

Close

The first ability you'll unlock in Rusty Rabbit is also the most important one as it lets you move a lot faster. This ability is called Roller Dash, and once unlocked, you can use it to increase your mech's speed for an infinite amount of time since this has no cooldown. The ability also lets you perform a high jump if you jump while being speedy.

It not only lets you cross long gaps but also helps in situations where a door only opens for a few seconds when you press its switch. You can only make it to the other side of the door when you have this ability, which unlocks in the first dungeon itself called the Upper Factory.

You'll have to go through quite a bit of story before being able to get to the part where you unlock this.

In Upper Factory, you'll reach a point where you have to get a specific keycard to open the first gate. You'll also see a red exclamation mark on the top part of the map, showing you the location for this card. However, to get to it, you'll have to pass one of the doors that open for a limited time.

As you fail while trying to get past the door for the first time, Paul will arrive and give you a part for Junkster that unlocks this ability.

How To Unlock Grappling Hook

The second ability you'll unlock will be quite a bit after the first one, since you have to reach the Material Storage Area, which is the third region after Upper Factory and Blast Furnace. As soon as you reach this area, you can fall down the path on the left edge where you'll see the door that requires the first keycard.

Keep going further down from here and you'll eventually reach the second main door with a small gap on its left. Go through this gap and you'll find the first keycard. After you jump back up from this and move to the left, Stamp will start wondering how he can get back up, which is when Wrex arrives with a part upgrade.

You'll first have to go through the door above to get the second keycard for the door on your right here.

Grappling Hook is one of the most important abilities in every game as it lets you reach walls that you couldn't normally reach. In Rusty Rabbit, there are also special red-colored hooks that you can sometimes see floating midair. You can also grapple to these hooks and launch yourself up.

Another use of the Grappling Hook is sticking yourself to walls when you're about to run out of stamina. This recharges your stamina instantly right after you reach the wall, and also prevents you from sliding down.

How To Unlock Boost Jump

Close

The final ability in Rusty Rabbit, and arguably the most valuable one, is Boost Jump. You can use this for a bit at the start where you can use the jetpacks behind Junkster to thrust yourself further up in the air. Not only does this help you reach high places but also helps you land safely on the ground without being applied with Stun.

However, you won't be unlocking this ability for quite a while. You can get Boost Jump after reaching the Submarine area, which requires you to beat eight areas first. After reaching Submarine, you'll have to reach near its end where you'll find the Survey Ship Dock rest area.

When you get past the Generator Car teleport point, you'll have to activate three switches to unlock the three doors blocking your way to the rest area.

Once you move past this rest area and go up, you'll meet Nether, who will give you this part for Junkster in an attempt to distract you from questioning him. After this dialogue, you'll unlock Boost Jump, which you have to use to get to the cage blocks above.

This will also lead you to the final boss fight in this area.

How To Unlock Every Weapon Ability

Apart from the special abilities of Junkster, you can also equip up to four types of weapons in the game. The first blueprints for these weapons will slowly unlock as you progress, except the drill, which you get from the start. You can also craft higher-rarity weapons later on, which massively boosts their damage and efficiency.

Another special thing about these weapons is that each one gets a special ability that you unlock at certain points in the story. These abilities help you break boxes that would be unreachable otherwise, and you can also use them during boss battles to deal much higher damage. Here's how each weapon ability works and how you can unlock it:

Drill Dash

This is the Drill's special ability, and as the name suggests, it lets you use the weapon to dash for a certain distance. This can either be used to break a bunch of blocks in a row or get through the gaps where you can't jump high.

As you explore the map, you'll commonly find areas with spikes or other dangers at the top, and the Drill Dash is perfect for those situations. You can unlock this at the end of the Upper Factory.

When you reach near the end, you'll enter a room with a bunch of blocks, where talking to Soma will unlock this for you.

Wave Motion Cannon

This is a special ability for the gun that lets you shoot a beam in the direction you're aiming. Apart from dealing damage to enemies from far away, this beam can be used to break containers that are past a cage block where your drill can't reach.

You can get it in the Wind Power Station area by getting the third keycard on the top-right side of the map. This keycard will open the path on the bottom left side, where you'll have to beat a Giant Rust Beetle before getting this.

Beam Blade

Similar to the ability above, Beam Blade can also throw a wave of slash in the direction you're aiming, and it's a sword ability. The main use for this is dealing damage to enemies that are weak to the sword without getting close to them.

You'll unlock this in the Cultivation Facility area. As you're exploring this, you'll reach a part where you'll constantly take poison damage. Open the third keycard door in this area to go down and then left, where you'll find Soma to unlock this.

Hammer Slammer

The final special ability you'll unlock in Rusty Rabbit belongs to the hammer, and you can find this at the end of the Submarine area after beating the Giant Rust Octopus. Some members of the BB group will arrive to give it to you.

This ability lets you slam the ground with the hammer, dealing massive AoE damage. It can be used against enemies weak to the hammer or break containers that are below you, separated by the cage block.
