Pokemon has teamed up with some unexpected entities over the years, and its announcement that it has pieced together a collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is right up there with some of its more unique crossovers. Not only have a number of iconic Van Gogh paintings been transformed to include a Pokemon twist - Sunflora in Sunflowers, for example - but a number of limited edition items celebrating Van Gogh have also been made available.

Leading the way is a brand-new Pikachu plush. There are a lot of Pikachu plushes on the market since the Electric-type is the world's most famous Pokemon, and the new soft toy reimagines the Kanto 'mon as Van Gogh himself. Modeled after the artist's famous self-portrait, the newest addition to the Pikachu plush collection puts Ash's sidekick in a grey felt hat and blue jacket. The plush is also holding a paintbrush and palette.

The most sought-after item in the Pokemon x Van Gogh collection might be one you can't actually buy. The Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat trading card. Designed to look exactly like the original painting except with Pikachu in place of Van Gogh, there are only two ways to add the card to your collection. Either by going to the Van Gogh museum yourself, and it sounds like it's pretty busy right now, or by purchasing an item in the collection through the Pokemon Center website.

Van Gogh Pikachu Plush

Pikachu has cosplayed as a lot of things in plush form over the years, and you can now add Vincent Van Gogh to that list. Part of Pokemon's collaboration with Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum which also includes some of the artist's paintings reimagined with a Pokemon twist.

Whether it's the Pikachu plush or one of the other items in the collection, each will come with an exclusive trading card. That's presumably while stocks last as I'm sure there's not an endless number of these cards and Pokemon will also want to keep them limited. If you want the card but you don't want the plush, there are other items you can buy instead. Each of the six Pokemon paintings will be available printed on t-shirts, and there's a tote bag with the Pikachu card's design on it among other items.

If you've managed to bag some merch or you got here late and it's already all gone, don't worry, there's plenty more Pokemon stuff to buy if you are looking to grab something. Earlier this month, a selection of new sleeping Pokemon plushes was available exclusively at Target. It was also confirmed this week that physical versions of Scarlet & Violet bundled with all of the DLC will be released on November 3.
