PostsSo if you’re a Torterra fanatic, you might be curious. Just what are the most valuable Torterra cards? This can be from very recent sets to very nostalgic releases that are no longer in circulation. So if you want to complete your collection, then here are the eight most valuable Torterra cards in the Pokemon TCG.
8 Torterra - Platinum - Market Price $1.73
You Are Getting Very Sleepy
Torterra from the Platinum set is as basic as it gets for a rare card. However, it is tied to one of the best Pokemon games of all time so it’s worth adding to your collection.
For three Energy, it can use Green Blast which does 40 damage plus ten more for every Grass Energy attached to it. The second attack costs four Energy and does 80 damage. Luckily, it does have an after-effect that leaves your opponent’s Pokemon Asleep, so this could have come useful in a previous meta.
7 Torterra EX - Temporal Forces - Market Price: $1.77
A Useable Torterra
Ultra-rare cards can be pretty hard to pull from packs. Surprisingly enough, Torterra EX is not that difficult to get your hands on in the second-hand market, as it is far easier to get than some of the more common cards in previous sets.
Torterra EX’s first attack, Forest March, does 30 damage for each Grass-type Pokemon in play. Its second attack is great for healing Torterra, as Jungle Hammer does 150 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon while healing 50 damage from itself, which can help it take a few extra hits and last just a bit longer.
6 Torterra - Plasma Storm - Market Price: $2.41
A Special Team Plasma Card
Team Plasma cards are unique as they have a special blue border to indicate that they are part of the faction. During their peak, they had special interactions with other cards from the same faction. It features a rather menacing version of Torterra on the card art and has two attacks.

These bulky Pokemon TCG cards are going to need some major damage to take down.
PostsThe first is Guard Press, which does 60 damage and then, during your opponent’s turn, dampens your enemy’s attack by 20. Rumble Stomp does 80 damage. Then you can keep flipping coins until you hit tails and deal an additional 20 damage for each heads; not a meta card, but perfect for completing your Team Plasma set.
5 Torterra - Unleashed- League & Championship Cards - Market Price: $4.89 - $5.13
Two Different Variants
Torterra from the Unleashed set, has two different rarities; the first is a Cracked Ice Holo which glitters when you tilt it from side to side. It was available as part of a League and Championship reward. The second and more expensive version is the holo rare version of the card.
Both have the same moves; the first is Giga Drain, which deals a base 40 damage and heals the same amount of HP that it dishes out. The second move is Land Crush, which deals 80 damage with no effect. Both are essential if you want to complete your Torterra shrine.
4 Torterra - Stormfront - Market Price: $5.22
A Fighting Torterra
Part of the Stormfront set, this version of Torterra has a few interesting moves as well as a Fighting-type makeover. Its Poke-Power allows it to instantly search out Evolution cards related to the Grass-type Pokemon on the Bench and instantly evolve them. This is an amazing ability for the time.
Crash Impact deals 60 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon and 20 damage to itself, and it also forces your opponent to switch out that Pokemon for one on the Bench. Land Shake deals 80 damage, then sets the stage for any Basic Pokemon played by your opponent to instantly take 20 damage.
3 Torterra - Diamond and Pearl - Market Price: $6.07
A Classic Holo Printing
One of the oldest Torterra cards came out right around the same time as the original release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS. It has that original holographic feel to it that many of the older cards used to have and a distinct 3D art style.

PostsThe first move is Body Slam, which uses three Energy for only 30 damage. It then allows you to flip a coin to see if you can Paralyze your opponent’s Pokemon. Leaf Storm doesn’t do much better with four whole Energies to deal 60 and heal your Grass-type Pokemon on the bench a little.
2 Torterra LV.X - DP09 - Diamond and Pearl Promos - Market Value: $17.88
Special LV.X Rules
Torterra LV.X is when the prices for Torterra cards start to get beefy. Level X cards are a unique set of cards that take your previously powerful Torterra and bump them up to an even higher level of strength. These cards act like Evolution Cards and are played directly on your existing Torterra.
What makes this so special is that you can keep using any moves, Poke-Power, or Poke-Body that the previous Torterra had. The only thing keeping this version of the card lower in price is that more copies are circulating due to it being a promo card.
1 Torterra LV.X - Diamond and Pearl - Market Price: $42.46
Most Expensive Torterra Card
The older the card, the more likely it is to spike in price, especially if it's no longer in circulation. It also helps when you previously had to pull this card from a pack, limiting the number of the cards in the wild.
Forest Murmurs is a Poke-Power that lets you swap out your opponent’s Active Pokemon as long as you have more Prize Cards left and Torterra isn’t affected by any Special Conditions. Torterra LV.X also gives your existing Torterra a new move called Vigorous Dash, which deals 100 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon and 30 to one of their Benched Pokemon.
