Up until this point, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's pack points have caused their fair share of confusion. Initially, it seemed like they'd expire once a new set came out, only for the game's developers to change the wording and assuage concerns.

Almost three months after release, another new discovery regarding one of the game's many currencies has emerged, with one player finding you can't open any more packs until you spend some of the points.

Too Many Pack Points Will Block Your Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Pack Openings

This finding was shared on the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit by user thegreatska, who was stopped from opening any more packs until they spent some of their pack points.

The player had hit the 2,500 pack point limit, which resulted in the following message popping up in the game: "Pack point limit reached. Please exchange your pack points for cards in Pack Point Exchange."

By building up 2,500 pack points, thegreatska had to show some serious patience. At five points per pack, it would have taken 500 packs without spending points to hit this total, something the player claimed they had done.

It's a situation that not many of us are likely to find ourselves in, but it's worth noting that you should probably spend your points at some point, rather than hoarding them. That is unless you're saving up for one of the Crown Rare gold cards.

While this is a pain, and Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket certainly has some issues, at least things aren't as bad as the real-world Pokemon TCG, which has seen card prices rise by up to 150 percent over just a three-month period.
