While Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket isn't without its faults, one thing the development team has done exceptionally well is inundating the game with a flurry of events. In the first three weeks, there's been the Lapras ex battle event, the Genetic Apex Emblem battle event, and the Chansey and Meowth Wonder Pick event.

There's no need to panic just yet, though.

As of this morning, the game's next event, the Fire Pokemon Mass Outbreak Event, has gone live. This event allows players to Wonder Pick a bunch of different Fire-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, being very similar to the recent Wonder Pick event, it's been called "Wildly underwhelming" by the game's community.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's Fire Pokemon Mass Outbreak Event will run for the next week, ending on November 28.

The event gives players the opportunity to get some free Fire-type cards from Wonder Picks, alongside a bunch of Wonder Hourglasses as mission rewards.

The New Pokemon TCG Pocket Event Is "Wildly Underwhelming"

This new event has hardly set the world alight, being met with a lukewarm reaction from Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket players.

The Reddit thread discussing the event was littered with comments from unhappy players. Reddit user Arrivederci117 said, "I feel like the rewards are far too little for what you put in. Getting a single Wonder Pick Hourglass for getting Arcanine EX is wild," with others saying that because they've already pulled the Arcanine ex from packs, the event is effectively pointless for them. Repocin said, "I already have two, and no reason to get a third one, so this just kinda sucks all around."

The event as a whole is perhaps best surmised by WolfGuy77's comment: "I have no idea why I was even excited for this event. I log in, get a free wonder pick for a single shop ticket, look at the shop because I heard about deals and see all the hourglasses are still sold out and not on sale at all; nothing new to buy. No packs to open, no battle missions..."

The prevailing theory is that this event is designed to help players prepare for the Venusaur ex battle event that is set to launch next week. The Venusaur event was part of December's line-up that was datamined and will require a strong deck to take on four preconstructed Grass-type decks. Naturally, having a strong Fire-type deck will help with this.
